Poured into a Duvel tulip. The appearance is very much like Coca-Cola, with dark mahogany liquid with hues of Amber and a large tan head on the pour that fades pretty rapidly to a film.

Aroma is classic dubbel - lots of dark fruit, malt, and alcohol. Figs, raisins, hints of cloves, and a nice chewy toffee sweetness.

Flavor follows the nose, but really amps up the complexity. I'm just going to free-associate flavors I think of while swishing this beer in my mouth: mega dark fruit, caramel, toffee, hints of bubble gum, hints of popcorn, cloves, cardamom, banana, milk chocolate, paint, etc. Nice warming finish, with alcohol presence really adding to the flavor. Very complex, with lots of tiny little flavors in there, in the way that only Belgian beers can really pull off.

Mouthfeel is medium-bodied, with lots of carbonation. Semi-milky, but surprisingly watery. Bubbles seem very large, but not particularly prickly. Really easy to drink.

Overall, really nice Dubbel, even if there's not much to distinguish it from the next Dubbel to come along.

A - Dark copper, slightly hazy. Thick foam.

S - Raisins and chocolate! Other nice aromas of dark fruits as well - figs, plums, dates. Spice notes are there, but restrained and nicely intertwined. Also get some dark bread crust. Alcohol aroma is sweet, warming and integrates beautifully.

T + M - Wonderfully sweet and silky smooth as I sip it. High carbonation balances the sweetness of the beer. Wonderful dry finish ensures that you can drink this for days.

O - An excellently balanced dubbel, which focuses on the malt side of things.
