750ml bottle into goblet. "10:56 K13J14" (no idea what this indicates)

a: hazy, bubbly apricot body with two fingers of white head

s: very bready and malty up front. the phenolic, band-aid-y character is there. grassy hops. fruit notes of pear, apricot, banana, and mild lemon. spices are on the back end

t: malty to begin with, followed by delicate pear, banana, and lemon. pepper and clove are integrated with these flavours. a moderate-to-strong band-aid-y/herbal/grassy hop bitterness kicks in quickly, with the malt character sticking around for a while

m: medium bubbly body, sticky and creamy

o: phenol qualities detracting from an otherwise pleasant, flavourful, delicious beer

Clear, while slightly hazy, golden color with a straw hue. Gorgeous white 3 finger head lasting 5 minutes. Tons of activity.

Pleasant aromas and flavors of fruity citrus, malt and some spices. More sharp than sweet with a well balanced intensity. Faint alcohol smell and aftertaste.

Slick medium body with a prickly champagne like feel. Pleasant smooth bitter finish with a dry spicy mouthcoat.

Overall : A very good flavorful tripel with a harsh alcohol feel, and slightly too spicy for my taste.

Serving Type: 750 mL Bottle

A- Poured an beautiful Golden Orange colour topped by 2 1/2 fingers of head. Great head retention.

S- Plums with a slight spiciness (think clove). I don't have much to compare with but the aroma reminds me a little bit of Hoegaarden.

T- Plum and pear fruitiness with lots of clove. Not too complex but straight to the point. Nothing in the taste to indicate the high ABV.

M- Lots of body on this beer. Carbonation is medium-high.

O- As my first Tripel, La Trappe Tripel was incredibly satisfying. Make sure you set aside an evening where you can sit and experience this Ale fully. Like many quality brews, high ABV can really sneak up on you and that's especially true with this one (it's sold in a 750 mL bottle).

Poured from 750ml bottle into la trappe goblet. Opened bottle at basement temp, poured one glass and placed the bottle into the fridge for the second glass. Foux cork with wire a bit difficult to remove. 1st time I've had this triple, love their quad so giving it a try.

A: Golden orange, clear but with the slightest haze.
S: Light, typical triple smell, belgiany
T: straight to the point authentic triple. No off flavors or modifications to a classic interpretation. Esters are present but not overwhelming, slight sweetness but not a 'sweet beer'. Peppery.
M: Silky ans smooth. Thick
O: Would classify this as one of my favorite triples. Slight sweetness is a perfect balance from the typically dry flavor of many other authentic versions. There is a hint of the same yeast profile as their quad, aftertaste is very similar and distinct.
