Deep dark amber colour, clear. Smells bitter, bready, and malty. grains and red malts, not too sweet. Light Belgian yeasts and a little herbaceous. Mouthfeel and body are on the heavy side, with a thicker mouth coat. Great moderate carbonation brings it up enough. Clean flavours overall. Delicate notes of stone fruits, raisin, caramelized sugar, and a delicate bitterness on the finish. No lingering flavours, just a cloying mouthfeel. Characteristic fruity body, notes of banana clove.

A work of art. Spices and dried fruit flavors abound Aroma of caramel, figs, oranges, etc. taste is complex mixture of the noted aromas, with a lingering palate and slightly dry finish. Very nice indeed, a fitting tribute to Brother Isadore.

Pours a three-finger cream/beige head that fades slowly to a ring leaving no lace. Hazy amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Malty nose. Flavor is malty dark fruit and wood. Slightly dry finish. $4.80 for a 330ml bottle from a Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, ME.
