Taste: semi sweet malts, toffee, mild mellow finish. Slight malt sweet nose. Brown hue, clear, with a delicate head and lace. Medium body. Darker and sweeter than most Altbiers.

Had a bottle in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Smoky and malty taste, which was really sweet. Medium/Strong body. The alcohol was hidden very well. This is a great beer!

Poured from 12oz bottle into a typical drinking glass.
Appearance: medium-dark amber hue with a finger of frothy ivory foam that settled pretty quickly. A reasonable appearance for an altbier.
Smell: malty and sweet, though not especially character-ful. I would say well-wrought, but not worth writing home about.
Taste: rich in malt and a bit sweet on the palate; there's a good amount of breadiness here while still maintaining a malt character. It's a heavy alt (doppelsticke maybe?), but delivers the goods.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess. The carbonation is well-incorporated so the creaminess stays a good long time. I dig it.
Overall: a pretty decent altbier! Not a lot of stand-out qualities but overall very well made.

Served in a pint glass, it pours a very dark copper, almost, black, with a two-finger ecru head, sudsy, with nice retention and very good lacing.
Shy bouquet. A bit of malts, slight toffee and lager yeast.
Nice subtle flavor, not complex.
Malty sweetness, a hint of roastiness, caramel, lager yeast.
Upfront sweet, and a very tamed bitterness mellows and rounds the flavor. The aftertaste is pleasant and has a nice length.
Nice carbonation, smooth, medium body.

Amber copper color with a thin off-white head with medium retention and leaving laces.
Aroma with notes of coffee, some smoked malts, a bit of pine and some prunes.
Malty but not sweet. Flavor with notes of spices, toasted and grainy malts, a bit of smoked malts and cocoa. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Medium body with appropriate carbonation. Alcohol of 7% is well disguised.
This is a bolder Altbier (Imperial Altbier as they say), with great malt complexity, especially compared to their standard version.
