Easily the best beer selection in Toledo/NW Ohio area. One of the best in the state and probably the region. Merchant's in Dearborn is the only place I can think of that compares.

They carry just about everything they can from each brewery on the shelf. Incredible belgian selection. Even the macro selection is impressive.

Staff is fine. I don't usually need service help so I appreciate that they leave you alone while you browse.

Only two things wrong with this place: you can't have the selection these guys have and not have the beer sitting on the shelf for a while. There is a lot of stuff out there from last year. Also, you will pay a little more for the selection they offer. But if you can't get it anywhere else, who cares?!?

Last thought: how can Toledo have a beer store like this but only one microbrewery?

Great selection of craft beer and bourbon. Staff always willing to check into special requests and help find a source even if it is not their store.

Stopped here on a trip to Toledo to pick up a collection of local micro brews, after going to the #1 place for beer stores in the area. #1 was a let down, as most selections were not offered in singles. So, my wife asked what is the next place? and off we went to Marino's. I was excited to see all packs were also priced as singles, albeit at a higher price. It definitely took me awhile to find Ohio crafted beer scattered around the shelves and cooler, but walked out with a nice selection.

I talked to the sales associate while getting my order rung up, and he was very friendly and pleasant. I complimented him on their vast selection of craft beer, and offering singles. He said that is how they have made a name for themselves. Definitely worth the drive out of town, if you don't want a full 4 or 6 pack of the same thing.

Made a quick stop here on my way to Cleveland from Detroit. Place has tons of beers from all over but definitely felt like a lot of shelf beers. I imagine it gets picked over by a lot of locals. Grabbed a RIS from Jackie O and Alpha King from FFF and proceeded on my way. Great spot if you're a local, but keep driving if you're not.

This is my first place review. I am a quality beer newbie. Great place to browse around, beer is not really organized, you need to search a bit if you are looking for something in particular. pay attention to dates, bought a few bottles that were way past their prime. Prices are a little lower than The Andersons.

This was my first visit to Marino's, and I must admit I was very surprised at the sheer amount of beer in this place! Its true that its kind of a mess with cases and boxes stacked all over the place but it kind of made it more fun - it was like american pickers BA style. The selection is terrific, despite having to spend 20 minutes or so looking around to find stuff. The cooler is probably the least organized with macrobrew in the middle and the walls lined with various american craft. Some people say the staff is nearly useless but that wasn't my experience at all. The owner is clearly a busy man but he took a few minutes to explain the layout (as best he could) and asked if there was anything I wanted that wasn't in stock. Ill definitely be going back in search of all the seasonal releases.

This is the place to go for american craft beers. The aisles are crowded, but crowded full of eye candy. Beautiful walk in with every single beer available by the six-er or single. The owner is very personable and always gives me the low-down on the latest hot items. Yes, the staff isn't that helpful, but so what. Selection trumps all! I like to order 6 different beers for my six pack, and you will get a discount rounded to the nearest $5. The dude gets the most GL brew of anyone in the state. Great store

I don't write many BeerFly reviews these days, but decided to make an exception for Marino's Beverage Depot since it's a 'must stop' on my thrice yearly trips back to the Buckeye State.

The biggest reason why this place is great is because it has the single best selection of American craft beer of any store that I've ever been in. John's Grocery in Iowa City still has the Belgian beer selection crown sewn up.

Narrow aisles that are usually cluttered with boxes of beer and wine is only a minor annoyance, as is a cooler that will give you hypothermia in several minutes unless you're wearing a parka. When it comes to ranking beer stores, the most important things to this BA are:

1. selection
2. selection
3. selection
4. selection
5. reasonable prices

Marino's fits those criteria with room to spare. I won't go into specifics, but I have found things here that I haven't seen anywhere else. The help isn't especially helpful or willing to talk, but those are way, way down on the list of gotta-haves. Besides, the owner will occasionally give me a discount and always rounds down to the nearest $5. Granted, that's no big deal when the bill is routinely more than $100... but still.

If you're in the area, stopping by Marino's and the nearby Anderson's (for those few things that this place doesn't have) will set you up right. I'll be going back in several weeks and can't wait to see what's new since my last visit in June.

Marino's Beverage Center is located about 1 mile east of US 23 near the Oh-Mi state line. In a strip mall, it is very unassuming, in fact I had been past it dozens of times without noticing. I have been there a few times since and will continue to return.

The quality is a mixed bag. You walk in to a layout nightmare with beer, liquor and wine scattered everywhere, with no apparent rhyme or reason. There are cases of alcohol in every aisle, making it difficult to pass with one of the mini carts that they offer. The beer is in several different sections laid out not by style or alphabetically, but by some archaic design known only to druid priests. That being said, half the fun is discovering some unknown cache of great beers that everyone else seems to have missed. The other major bonus is the enormous walk-in cooler with tons of beer, sixers and singles, very little room devoted to wine.

The service was good. The business is family owned and the younger generation will carry your purchases to your car for you. They will try to answer questions, but beer doesn't seem to be the main focus here.

The selection was very good. I found several oddball beers here along with the usual micro suspects. This is the only place I have ever seen Snake River brews (for those of you who want to be able to check off the state of Wyoming). Marino's is by far, the best selection of beers in the metropolitan Toledo area. A liberal mix-six policy, if you don't see a single, just grab on out of a six pack (you won't know the single price until you check the receipt though).

The value is reasonable for most of the sixers and bombers. The singles are on the high side.

LOcated in a strip mall that has a satellite Tony Packo's restaurant. Close to US 23 on Monroe Street. Fairly new establishment of the party store variety. Automatic glass doors at entrance(classy). They have quite an extensive beer selection-A huge variety of bombers, but what really stands out is the amount of cold beer on hand.(And I mean cold). Marino's has a huge walk-in cooler with automatic opening glass doors (classy again!) that houses just about all the variety of six packs, bombers, and singles that can be found on the warm shelf. In my opinion the cooler is much too cold, as if you are wearing a t-shirt you can only stand it for about five minutes before getting rather uncomfortable. That being said, it ia an impressive amount of cold craft beer to be had.
The only downsides to this establishment are a few "slow-movers" that were out of date, probably due to the large double inventory, and a decidedly lack of knowledgeable service. It appears to be a family run business, and some of the help was either too busy or just not "in the know" enough to offer any assistance. The apparent owner, or manager, as it were, seemed to know his stuff, if you are lucky enough to go there when he's working.
Overall though, an impressive selection of craft beer, especially the bomber variety, and simply the most COLD craft beer in town.

Saw this on beermapping as the closest bottle shop to the highway on my way up to Ypsilanti for the summer fest.

A rather unassuming liquor store in a strip mall setting. Walking in, there is an abundance of wine, and for a second, I didnt think there would be much beer. Boy, was I wrong.

Back left of the store the madness begins. 8 ft high shelves piled with all sorts of selection. Coolers of singles and 6ers along the back wall. Many many beers to sift through here. On my visit, there were also many cases lined up on the floor, not priced yet, evidently waiting for the stocker. Coincidentally, one of the beers on the floor was something a local BA had been hunting diligently for.

Prices seemed to be right in line with my home market. I did find some outdated bottles around, including Founders Rubaues that I haven't seen in quite some time (and is quite faded).

The owner was friendly, and asked his son to help me out to my car with my new stash.

Met kryptic here to do a trade while in town. Shopped too.

Quality: The store has a nice layout with aisles several feet higher than me blanketing the walls. Wine seems to be a focus but they don't skimp on beer.

Service: Again, my I Hate Ohio State shirt got some attention and ribbing at the register from the kid in the OSU shirt. I didn't seek out any assistance.

Selection: Large, varied selection. I saw lots of Stone, Flat Earth, Two Brother and Hoppin' Frog. Plenty of sixers and singles. An import row is heavy on English and Belgian offerings. I ended up with a Stone IRS 2009 and two Weihenstephaner bottles, including a festbier.

Despite living less than four miles away (although traffic is heavy in the area), today was the first time I'd ever been here. I don't think I've regretted not having gone to a place earlier than when I walked through the doors. The entire left side of this store, and it's a large store, is sixers of micro beer. The cooler on the entire left side of the store is micros. The end caps of the shelves are micros. There are separate smaller shelving units with micros. Then, in the back center, there's a walk-in cooler of micros...and some macros. I have never witnessed the selection I saw there. Sixers, 4-packs, 750s, singles and anything in between of almost any brew you could ask for. The guys that run the place are helpful. It was pretty busy and I was still able to get answers to a few questions I had. The one guy who was responsible for ordering could tell me anything I wanted to know and willing to special-order anything I could want. The only issue is that with such a huge selection there were some old brews there, but even so most could be cellared, so age wasn't always an issue. Everything I picked up was fresh. Prices are a little high for singles (I didn't see one for under $1.75), and the standard was $1.95, no matter how common or cheap elsewhere. Some 750s may have been a bit cheaper though. If you live anywhere near here, skip every other place (maybe check out The Andersons also) and go straight here.

This place is probably now my favorite spot within a 30 minute radius of me. I usually go to either Josephs or The Andersons for beer, but just recently found out about this place. This is by far superior to both Josephs and Andersons. They have a HUGE selection of singles and a lot of imports. They also have a few beers that are now retired. This is also where I found a 4 pack of Kentucky Breakfast Stout when everyone else in the area was sold out. The guy had them behind the counter. This is definitely my favorite place in the area now and I can't wait to go back and try some new brews. Talk about a kid in a candy store!

This place is great. Not only is it close to where I live but I think it has the best selection Ive ever seen. You can find stuff here you wont even find at the Andersons and I love the large walk in cooler. It has a huge selection of six packs and bottles and a lot of it is unusual imports that you just cant get your hands on at most places. Ive even found stuff that was supposed to be discontinued or was out of season. The employees seem to know what there talking about and are friendly enough. This is the best place I know of to get beer.

Marino's is located in a strip mall just east of US23 in Sylvania. (Tony Packo's Cafe and the Buckeye/Wolverine shop are other stores in the shopping center)

This is the store to hit if you are looking for something uncommon. Marino's carries a very wide selection of Belgian ales and some other unusual imports like Brewdog from Scotland. Marino's also has a very large walk in cooler. Most of what you see on the shelves can also be found chilled. The overall selection may be the best in the area.

The beer shelves are a little chaotic. Most of it's fairly well organized, but on my visits it's also a bit cluttered. I've also seen a few seasonal beers that haven't been brewed in a while. If your a savvy beer shopper, you'll do fine here.

Service has been okay. The clerks have been friendly, but I haven't tested their beer knowledge.

Check it out. They've got a great selection, and it's probably the closest place to hit for our friends in the state up north to visit on your Ohio beer runs.
