At this point, the wife and I had been driving and roaming around Scandinavia for a while… and we were approaching exhaustion. But of course our vacations are always a race and never a chill, so we kept pushing. We wanted to see a bit of Malmo before spending the night in Kobenhavn, and that we did. We spent maybe two hours there before hopping over the expensive bridge and tunnel to Denmark, but it was enough to love the city and make a note to come back.

After dinner at some place underneath City Hall or whatever, we walked around the old city and ended up at Bishop’s Arms. This is a classy old pub near everything that matters in Malmo. It looks like an Irish pub that fell into a bucket of Adirondacks hunting lodge solution- what with the wood panels, horn trophies, leather booths and thick, solid tables. But there's more- a back room with wood panels and even a library with books and table games.

They have lots of taps here: Founders Porter, Mikkeller Crooked Moon, Clown Shoes Muffin, Mikkeller Not Just + American Dream… and Sam Adams, Guinness and bullshit for the tourists, expats and nostalgics.

Check out the bottle menu: Amager, Stone, Mikeller, Green Flash plus rarities I spotted on shelves around the wall like Jester King Black Metal, Eclipse Fifty Fifty, Three Floyds, Tokyo, Dark Horizon…

The staff was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about beer, and of course they spoke more English than Danish. The crowd was so-so, ranging from old dudes in suits to a gay couple and some English-speaking beer nerds tasting IPA’s.

Needless to say, this is a must in Malmo! (1,608 characters)

Waiting in Malmo train station for connection to Goteborg. Went outside and saw Bishop's Arms across the way...easy brief walk.

Inside saw a fully stocked British style pub. Good happy crowd at bar and seated at tables. Very relaxing, pleasant setting.

Had been told by Bark that BA franchises often had Narke so I asked. Waitress apologized and said there was not one presently on tap. So I went local, and had a Brekereit Funkstarter. Happy with choice of pub and beer. Very friendly and some of more knowledgeable staff I have met anywhere. Went back up to bar area and checked bottled beers as well as the taps, and was highly impressed...very good variety of top beers worldwide as well as many excellent Swedish representatives.

My wife and I were ordering some food...cheeses, meats and breads (excellent!), when the original bartender came over to our table. She said she had just kicked a keg, and tapped a keg of Narke Rainbow Warrior so I could try it. Wow. How often do you experience anything as nice as this? Just outstanding. And for that matter...so was the beer.

Absolute must stop when in Malmo...and definitely if you're having a wait for a train. (1,173 characters)

In my opinion the best bar in Malmö. Extremely cosy atmosphere in a classic british pub style. The service is great with a really knowledgeable and helpful staff for beer geeks as well as for people just wanting to grab a beer after work.

The selection is one of Malmö's best, if not the very best, at least concerning the bottles. The tap-list is half macros and half micros that change on a regular basis, a lot of Swedish micros as well as Danish, Mikkeller is very well represented from time to time. The whiskey list is also a thing of beauty, be sure to check it out.

The food leaves a lot to ask for, however, where the burger is the only thing really worth considering and even then it is way overpriced. The beer is also a bit pricey even for swedish standards which easily makes it a expensive affair to visit this bar, but it is often worth it. (859 characters)

This is one of the best pubs in Malmö, and a place you shouldn't miss if you ever visit the town. Here you find an excellent selection of beers on tap, including beer from several Swedish and Danish micro breweries. From time to time they also have cask ales, mainly from Ocean Bryggeriet in Gothenburg, but also from breweries like Närke Kulturbryggeri, Nynäshamn Ångbryggeri, Fuller's, and Shepherd Neame to mention a few. The selection on tap is not all good though, a little more than half is comprised of the standard light lager money makers.

The place also has a good selection of bottled beers, and offer you the option to get your bottled beer chilled or not chilled depending on your preference. Among the bottled beers you can find a good selection of beers from American micro breweries, some lambic beers, a couple of beers from Danish micro breweries, mainly Mikkeller, and a variety of Belgian beers.

In addition to it's selection of beers the pub also sports an excellent selection of single malt whisky, with more than 250 different kinds in all price ranges.

The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, as long as you don't bother them too much on busy nights. If the bar is not too crowded they are more than willing to chat with you, and are not afraid to come with suggestions on what you should drink as long as you give them a notion of what you like.

The food is not very good, even though they get it from the award winning restaurant next door. One could speculate that the restaurant that supplies the food considers itself too posh to cook pub food and therefore puts it's trainees on that task.

The general price range for the pub is a bit above other places in the town, but on the other hand is the selection and handling of the beer top notch.

All in all this is a place that I highly recommend, although I would suggest eating elsewhere if that's an option. (1,897 characters)
