Had it not been for the rave reviews, I would have walked right by this unassuming looking place that has a rather "dive bar" appeal. Lucky, went in. It is a hybrid that exists somewhere between a deli and your Dad's favorite bar. There is a comfortable, but well-worn, look to it: dated décor, ragged tables, antique barstools and an ancient bar. But the beer selection is top-notch. The ten drafts included a delicious porter from Melvin Brewing - Wyoming (I think.) Friendly service and some real hearty grub - fried cheese curds - makes for a very pleasant place to quaff brews in a welcoming venue. You can get here by MAX: Killingsworth station and Bus no. 72.

Super friendly, great beer, great vibe, great bottle selection, great people to meet. This is one of the best beer places I have ever been to. Go here, there is no possible way you will regret it.

Kind of off the beaten path from downtown Portland. Took a while to get there on the bus. Had a lot of things to try in the store, but also a small (but good) selection of beers to go. Found a MoaS and some nice Hair of the Dog limited releases. A great place to visit if in town. Staff was very helpful.

An awesome little shop / beer bar. Staff was super friendly. Tight selection of bottles and a great looking tap list. Staff was very helpful and did not mind giving us extra glassware for sharing bottle out. Highly recommended.

Not really into Pasties but they were good. The beer selection here is pretty good. Bought a 2009 Stormwatcher here and I have been craving one ever since.

In Portland for the weekend to bring my son to his first year at University of Portland.
Was looking to find a store that I could buy some local/regional craft beer in cans.
The store is a mixture of a store, and restaurant. very good selection of local craft beers especially in cans.
The walls were also full of beer cans, signs etc. A lot to look at while enjoying your beer and food.
I brought my family there for lunch and the food and beer were very good.
Very nice people working there and the know their stuff.

There's a reason this place has featured in BA mag. A beautiful establishment in a now-hip area of Portland. As a native Midwesterner, I felt right at home here - the proprietor is a Wisconsin native and the featured menu item is pastys (look it up). A very nice bottle selection - I walked outta there with a one-off bomber from Gigantic Brewing, if that tells you anything. During your PDX beercation, you will go here. Yes you will !
