Best beer bar in PDX and I'm lucky enough to live within walking distance. Excellent selection of beers, both American and elsewhere (lots'a Belgians!). Never had pasties before, now I'm in love. The service is the best I've experienced ever (not just bars; ANYWHERE!) and I think they / the servers have the awards to prove it, so it's not just me.

In Portland for the weekend to bring my son to his first year at University of Portland.
Was looking to find a store that I could buy some local/regional craft beer in cans.
The store is a mixture of a store, and restaurant. very good selection of local craft beers especially in cans.
The walls were also full of beer cans, signs etc. A lot to look at while enjoying your beer and food.
I brought my family there for lunch and the food and beer were very good.
Very nice people working there and the know their stuff.

Other than it being a Green Bay Packers hangout (I'm a Niners Fan), this place was everything you'd expect from a Portland hole-in-the-wall pub. I loved every bit of it, from the bottled beer selection, to the 8 taps to the Pasty lunch that we had. The food was phenominal. The pickled veggies were off the chart fantastic. The pastys were amazing. A must try in North Portland.

Wonderful place! Just a few mins walk from the train stop. I was fortunate to have arrived during an IPA draft special wherein they had something like 5-7 IPA's on tap. Sampler was nice and allowed me to try nearly all of them.

Good representation of regional beers, especially hoppy stuff.

Service was impeccable & friendly beyond expectations. I wish more people were like this in the service industry. Our pasties were tasty and the fruit appetizer was interesting as well.

There's a lot of character in this place.

The bottleshop/tap room combo is catching on, with Portland boasting several now. This place has all the charm of a local pub; it's both intimate and lively and the staff does a good job making sure you drink good beer and eat well. The menu shows a number of items, besides their signature pasties, both veg and non-veg. They boast a great selection of local beers on tap, and if that's not enough for you there's a great bottle selection in the beer chests. As I said, this is a neighborhood pub, so I'm happy that a Portland visitor like myself ended up here because enough Portland beer-heads told me to check this place out.
