I just went to Muckey's for the first time last night, and I'm sold. Jay (their beer buyer, guru, and the spirit of the place) is incredibly knowledgeable, and lead me to a handful of sours that I've never tried, or even heard of. I was able to pick up a Founders KBS, and a Lost Abby Red Hoppy, both of which I can't find anywhere else on the Southcoast. Jay and one other employee helped me for at least 30 minutes- they clearly take pleasure and pride in helping beer enthusiasts.

I traveled from New Bedford (~25 minute drive), and I will do it again!

This is a great stand alone store on rt. 44. They have a smaller selection but it is very good. The staff is great and very helpful. Jay, the beer guy, is very helpful and always willing to talk about beer and make recommendations. They get limited stuff and usually keep it in the back so you have to ask. They post on Facebook when they get limited beers. The prices are fair and they allow you to buy singles.

Great selection of Beers! On my first visit I was impressed with the offerings for each style of beer, not just more lines from the same brewery.

Good business starts with ownership and it is evident here. Service is the highlight, Jay is the beerman and he knows what I'm asking about when I have question. Maybe most important to me they are quick to offer ordering.

Prices also seem to be very reasonable always appreciated.

I walk in and say "What's new?' and there is always something interesting. And Jay always knows what my wife will like. Priceless! There are some selections you have to be fast about getting but I guess that is true for any establishment with a reputation like Muckey's. But than again, the fun is in the hunt. I have been known to be found cruising the back of the cooler, just to see what might be buried therein. They will order anything that you may be looking for or at least try to order it.

Muckey's isn't too far up from Debuca's in Raynham. A smaller place, but they have a good selection of craft, both refrigerated and non. They have been very helpful when I've called to have them order me beers I cannot typically find around me. Haven't spoken to any staff during my visits, however.

Go straight thru the front door at muckeys and there is a full aisle of hand selected craft beers ,a perfect blend of local ,imports ,domestics and hard to find beers from some of the premier brewers including founders,Lagunitas ,Firestone walker, and the bruery. With about 40 or so cooler doors I'd say a good 15 plus are dedicated to craft beer. The staff is knowledgable and aggressive in bringing in new brands and weeding out brands that are stale .A clearance rack on the left as you enter the building is used as a way to clear out beers that are getting close to their expiration date ,a good way to get a good deal and ensure their stock is fresh .Prices are as good or better than most in the area .

Muckey's Liquors has a very deep selection of microbrews from the notable local area, ad from across the United States and Eurpoe.

The beer guy, Jay "Garth" lives and breathes craft brews. He has such a vast knowledge of what he sells, AND what exists, he can recommend many brews based on what you've had and liked. Get on his good side, and he will tip you off with upcoming deliveries of rare brews. I was able to purchase a Barrel Aged Fifty Fifty Brewing Co.'s Eclipse Imperial Stout, plus he helped me when I was getting the Stone Vertical Epic series.

Esy to get to right on Route 44, and just a short distance away from Route 495, this is well worth the trip.

First visit in many years because frankly the place was a dump. Friend suggested giving them a chance. Solid aisle of craft brews, selection very variable, many things I had to look up. Prices reasonable, talked with whoever was in the beer aisle, pleasant and informative. Seemed actually pretty high end. Lots of larger bottles. Wasn't really expecting what I saw. Didn't have a few specifics I was looking for, so did not buy anything, by will no doubt visit again since I work right around the corner. Pleasant surprise, cleaned up tremendously, well lighted, well organized.

I first started going to Muckey's this summer and wow was I surprised. I didn't expect to see much going in but when I did get inside the store and see their selection I was pleasantly surprised. They have a really good selection of craft beers and it is continuing to expand. every week I go back I always seem to find something new and the beer manager Jay is a super friendly and helpful guy. He is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. On the weekends he frequently has a few bottles open to sample with the customers. This already is a great store and looks like its continuing to improve.
cheers

Muckey's is the beer store to check out with great beers and great service. The craft beer selection is excellent and this store offers great things such as a beer of the month club and hosts events such as a wings and brews event that I attended a couple months back which was a lot of fun.

When you go to Muckey's ask for Jay. He is incredibly knowledgable about craft beer and is very helpful. I recently bought things such as gandhi-bot and a Schlafly special reserve 2010 imperial stout at Muckey's.

I highly recommend Muckey's. It is definitely worth checking out.

Cheers!

I love going to this place because they have everything you can imagine and even twice as much as you never even thought of. They have the best and biggest Craft Beer section that just keeps on growing and growing, I can't say enough great things about this place. The people that own the place are friendly and everyone is always wiling to help you look for something if you can't find it on your own. I have never had a bad experience there and the guy Jay who takes care of the Craft Beer is uber cool and knows everything there is to know about beer if no one else can answer your questions this man can. So head on down to Lakeville and go to the best Liquor store around.

I love this place. I go there at least once or twice a week to check out a new beer, or see what they have gotten in that week. The atmosphere and customer service are key to why I come back here week after week. There are other liquor stores that are closer to my house, but I do not go there because the service is not good whatsoever. Being that I am 23 these other stores look at me like I'm a nuisance, and are not helpful why I have asked them questions. The staff at Muckey's on the other hand are consistently helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about their products. If you are looking for a cheap good wine or a good rum to mix with coca-cola there will be someone there to offer their advice. When I leave Muckey's I am happy with my choices, and have had a great experience overall.

However, beer is why I come back to Muckey's week after week, and Jay, who handles the craft beers, is a great resource tool when you are looking to try something new. He has a great passion for beer, and is like an encyclopedia on the subject. Whether you are looking for a lager, IPA, stout, trappist ale, hefeweizen, or anything in between, Jay has tried a wide variety of beers, and he can assist a customer to find something they will like. I've hung around there for close to an hour before just talking about different beers.

I have been into the store more than once where someone who says they usually stick to macro-lagers, and they are looking for something new to bring to a party. Jay goes out of his way to find something that they will like and be able to afford. Nothing bothers me more than snobbery in any facet of life, and the staff at Muckey's are absolutely not snobby towards their cliental. Overall, I highly recommend a trip to Muckey's if you are in the area.

Anytime I'm in the area I stop in to see what's there. It's a nice open store, with a good beer isle and nice fridge setup in the back.

The beer selection is pretty good, ranging from lots of good micros to decent imports, and a pretty decent sized selection overall. They also tend to have leftover rarer beers, such as Cantillon.

The service is great, most of the staff can provide some useful info, but the beer manager was great with knowledge, providing info on beer releases and ordering stuff for you if he doesn't have it.

Pricing is pretty good, most of the stuff is at typical price at most places, but some things are slightly higher but nothing unreasonable.

I'm from South Florida visiting Bridgewater, so it bears mentioning that right off the bat, I identified nine or ten different breweries that just don't get distribution in my neck of the woods. Founders, Alesmith, Maine Beer Company...all exciting things that I used to have to trade for. Consequently, my review will probably be a little skewed.

Muckey's is family owned and mostly family operated from what I understand, and there's an established, laid-back coziness that I really dig. They have a long shelf of singles mixed in with some notable six packs, in addition to a well stocked cooler and a small section with discounted out-of-date beers (bonus points in my book). Everything you would expect to be there is there, although there are a few exciting things (Rose de Gambrinus, for example). The things here are, most importantly, FRESH. I can't tell you how many times I've been burned by an outdated IPA. Everything here was dust free, well maintained, and well organized. The prices seemed like they were a dollar or two more than usual, but I think it's just a trend I'm noticing since being in the Northeast.

I spoke to Jay, the beer guy, who was not only knowledgeable and friendly, but was looking to take care of his customers, nay, his people. Need something custom ordered? Jay can do that. Wanna know when the next shipment of something will arrive? Jay can tell you. He's actively trying to make the beer selection better; I love that. He mentioned reading a few reviews here on BA too, so here's hoping this one finds him. Muckey's is totally worth checking out if you're in the area.

Stopped by this place on the way to visit a friend near the RI border. Knew it had an A+ rating so figured it would be something special. To be honest, it's really not. It's possible that it's really exceptional for the area but I can't comment on that, as I am from the North Shore area and have access to many fine places within a 30 minute drive.

This store was fairly small and seemed a little run-down and plain. Nothing glaringly bad but it just seemed like it hadn't been updated in many years.

The beer is on one side of a single mid-sized aisle. There are coolers in the back and on the right side as well. Nothing really special, and honestly a lot of REALLY old stuff. There were plenty of well-worn and dusty bottles that were dated 2007-2008. I found a few gems to take home and try (2007 Peche Mortel, 2008 Mephistopheles, etc) but otherwise it was pretty standard. I doubt their selection changes much due to the age of the bottles available. Decent selection of New England stuff but nothing really special or out of the ordinary.

Prices were pretty standard, nothing special. 10% off 6+ which was decent as well.

Overall not a terrible place but I don't think I'd ever be back even if it were close to me.

This place is worth going the extra distance because of the great selection they have. Just the large selection of Sam Adams would keep me coming but they also have many local breweries and imports with many options for each company.

Not only do they have discount on mix six's they often have discounts on specials for the week. There are Beer tasting Thursdays and Saturdays with knowledgeable staff. Updates on facebook with what they will be tasting. Staff has been very helpful in giving recommendations for the type of beers I like. Loved the DFH Chicory Stout, Innis & Gunn Oak Aged Beer, Weihenstephan Festbier

So I almost don't want to review this place as it's my favorite little store and want to keep it all for myself. Their craft brew section has been growing and they have a good assortment of beers (easily the best in my little neck of the woods). Not the largest store out there, but good enough size that I find myself spending quite a bit of time here each week. Staff is knowledgeable, very helpful and always pleasant. I've been to quite a few stores in my local area searching for Mr. Right and I always end up coming back here.

Live in the city but work in the area near Muckey's and when I was driving by I noticed their sign stating come in and see our expanded craft beer selection so I did. Have to say I have been pretty impressed with the selection and over the months it appears that they are continuing to expand what they offer. They have the widest selection of BBC that I have seen and also carry growlers of BBC. There almost always an employee walking through the beer section of the store and they always ask if they can help you. Has become my regular stop for beer when I do not feel like making my way out to Brookline for Publick House Provisions.

RE Review: This place keeps getting better. They recently re-did the beer department and it is better organized. They contine to improve the selection and have been getting some rarer beers as of recent including Black Ops, KBS, and Founders Nemesis. Has become my goto spot and service is great well worth a stop.

8/18/12 Time to update my ancient review and give more props to Muckey's.

Look, I'm a guy that really likes family run places that get it right. As per my original review, Muckey's is that exact place.

Muckey's just keeps getting better, they now have a full time guy devoted for beer, Jay (actually they've had him for awhile, just been a long time since I've updated my review) and the selection just keeps getting better.

Servicing the "beer geek" market is clearly a priority at Muckey's, it's a MUST STOP if you live anywhere nearby, hell, I live in Stoughton and I make the trip.

Who knows, if there are enough of us, we may finally turn Bill senior (the Patriarch) into a beer geek, although this will be an uphill battle.

The bottom line is hit Muckey's if you're around the south shore, you won't regret it.

---

Just completed another run to Muckey's, they will get all of my business going forward -period, you cannot beat the customer service (special orders included) or the pricing the 10% discount on mixed sixers alone justifies the trip. Best SE Mass beer store by a wide margin, add to that family run, friendly & helpful.

Simply stated, great selection, very competitive pricing, great service.

Good selection of American Crafts as well as Belgian & German imports. Hard to find a perfect beer store in the area (Lakeville, Taunton) but what I like about Muckey's is that (unlike many other beer stores) they will special order for you even if it's a brand they don't normally carry and furthermore they won't rape you on the price. Great place and I will will give them as much future business as I possibly can!

Billy (the beer buyer) is friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful!
