Hap on tap @the Ginger Man in NYC 8-31-2008

Just an average middle of the road IPA, nice balance, not alot of bite in the finish. Citrus, floral notes in the nose. Dark amber in color with a decent head. Pretty easy drinking, despite the 7% ABV Nothing special about this anniversary brew, was expecting more.

A nice light orange/amber colour mostly clear with a nice white collar of thick foam. Lacing is decent as well. Aromas of this one are malty again with a more pronounced fruity hoppiness coming from the Styrian Golding hops. This is less orangey and juciy than the EKG version, and the finish is also notably drier. I also noticed a slightly acidic raspberry flavor in this brew. Interesting and good. Drinkability and mouthfeel are the same as they were for the EKG version.

It is just an average looking beer that pours a clear golden, amber and has little head. The aroma is mostly piney hops with a touch of malt. It has a great taste. There is some caramel maltiness and lots of spicey, piney, citrus biterness. The styrian goldings are very evident (as they should be) and the bitterness lingers for some time. The ABV is really well hidden. This beer could be dangerous.

What a quality IPA! Clear dark orange pour fresh from my SLY FOX growler into my SLY FOX pint (now al I need are SLY FOX Underoos and I'm all set!) This growler was filled up two days ago. Finally, this pour is topped off by a ½ beige head that fades to a scant slick as I progress thru this one.

Fresh cut grass & piney, styrian hops oil scents meet an equally robust flavor of the same. There is an aftertaste balance back towards hints of malty candy, but the hops in this IPA are all about it. The floral bouquet and citrus grapefruit peel is more located on the tongue than in the nose.

The acidic sizzle is down to a dull roar here. This is a total sipper. I could drink these all night. As a matter of fact, the Phillies are on and I have a fresh growler so I just might go the grwloer marathon distance.

Last swigs: What an all around quality pleasure of a local IPA. Too bad that SLY FOX is a little far away. If it were closer this growler would be filled much more often than on rare occasions.

Beer is good. Happy local beering.

yelloish amber coloring with stong carbonation and medium head that dissapates in a nice relaxed fashion. stong hop aroma throughout, hitting one head on and though the nose as the taste builds. Strong bitterness throughout with a residual sweetness at the finish. good flavor balance and strong prescence makes this a truly enjoyable beer. bitterness brings the quaffability down a bit for my book and palate

Hmmm, interesting addition to the IPA project from Sly Fox.

Pours a nice, dark, cloudy deep orange color. Nice white head that takes its time dissapting, and leaves enough lace to be noticable.

Smells with a mixture of earthy tones and spice.

INtersting taste. Like the style says, it isn;t so much the citrus taste, it is more of a pleasent, yet bittering taste. It really doesn't do it justice to describe it like that, but that is the best way I can do it.

Nice, interesting beer, rather drinkable for IPA w/ this abv. Well played Sly Fox, well Played.
