On tap at Spuyten Duyvil in Brooklyn!
A- Murky bright orange hue, off-white wispy foam retains, big thick lacing
S- Moderate pine resin hops, slightly acidic citrus, tinges of caramel malts and alcohol
T- Initial taste is mostly super-bitter hops and sweet caramel malts, finishes very dry and bitter
M- Medium-bodied, oily texture coats the mouth, mild carbonation
D- A uber bitter IPA that is bold and interesting but somewhat lacking in flavors, rather ambivalent about this one so I probably wouldn't get it again.

On tap at the 2007 Sly Fox IPA Project Day...
Appears a transparent orange toned amber with a small white head that slowly fades out into a mild cap. Small streaks of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of mild citrus, and flowers with a hint of caramel. This was very light in the aromas, unlike the other IPA's, which were aggressive.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with the same light citrusy caramel flavor that is more of a refresher than an in-your-face IPA.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, not overbearing, or abrassive, smooth, and very mild & easy drinking.

Poured a medium copper hue with a one and a half finger foamy white head. There was good retention and very good sticky lacing.

The smell featured a piney and resiny hop with a solid doughy malt.

The taste was upfront oily citrus hops mounted upon a grainy and biscuity malt.

The mouthfeel was of average fullness with a lingering hop bitterness.

Overall a very good and tasty IPA. The best IPA to come out of Sly Fox to date.

It pours a mainstream but pleasant coppery amber. A finger of thin off-white head pops away to surface froth. Dollops of lacing spoon the inside of the glass.

The aroma is a distinctly basic paring of caramel malt sweetness and dry citrus hops. A very understated hint of pine is possible, but not entirely verifiable.

Upon tasting, the malt is mildly sweet with caramel, and a bit bready as well, with a biscuit twitch. The hops are a little more dimensional here, with a definite duo of grapefruit and airy pine. There's an intimation of alcohol, though it is there and gone. A touch more biscuit comes from a residual malt presence, but the bitterness that drives the finish soon crisps and dries the endgame. It is good, and it is straightforward.

Between light and medium bodied, the malt is nicely creamy and the carbonation and hops lend a peppy glow.

The word that springs to mind is good. Well, that, and basic. It's malt, hops, yeast, and water. And there's nothing to distract, nothing to stun, nothing to blind. It's just fundamental and tasty. The ABV is by no means high, and the minimal presence in no way limits how drinkable it is. So it's good and basic. Or basic and good. Nah, it's basically good.

I got a sneak preview of this from someone. Secret will die with me.

A - This IPA from the project is a deep copper with a firm but smallish head above a slight carbonation.

S - much like many Sly Fox IPA's, not too much here. I still haven't figured out how this is done...However, this is a little different, in that this is a new, New Zealand hybrid. It is really delectable.

T - the number one thing that i can pull out of this beer is the amazingly accurate rendition of a golden Chimay CHEESE in the finish on this brew. NOT the beer, but the cheese. Juast get some. if not in the next wo weeks, get t at the IPA Project in December.

M - is exceptionally better than the average of what is expected at the Fox.

D - not above 7% and quite tasty, you betcha...!
