A-pours a orange amber color with a slightly white head with pretty good retention
S-grassy/pine hop aroma mixed with malty sweetness
T-Equal malt and piney hop flavor up front that leads into a more malt dominate flavor and finishes with a bit of citrus, finishes a bit dry and bready
M-medium bodied
O-pretty decent pale ale. very drinkable and wouldn't hesitate to try again

Pours a transparent copper toned orange with a pure white head and decent lace coating the glass. The nose is extremely hoppy and sweet with a strong resigny oil hop presence. There is a very light malt in there but the hops are strong behind with notes of citric orange. The taste has a more assertive malt presence with a lightly toasted bread and pale malts. There is an assertive citric hop and strong bitterness to balance. Medium to full syrupy body and a lighter carbonation with a very clean finish. The beer is balanced, strong hop presence and very clean beer.

A thanks to woodychandler for the trade! Poured into my Duvel tulip.

A - Pours a deep, clear copper/amber hue with a one finger creamy white head that faded quickly to leave a thin, white halo.

A - Aroma is well, average. Getting mostly sweet, carmel malts. There are some old hop bitterness on the end. Not the fresh hops I was looking for.

T - Again, like the nose this just isnt all that fresh tasting. Losts of sweet carmel malts, which is nice, but I like those piney, citrus hops in my APAs and this just doesnt deliver. Maybe it did at one point.

M - Mouthfeel isnt bad, a bit on the sweeter side but its not heavy or syrupy.

O - Overall, I find that this is just an average brew. It might have been nice fresh, but at this point it just doesnt do anything for me. Would give Sly Fox another chance though.

12 oz can, with code of "310 6/18/13" which I assume is a best buy date.

appears a very clear amber copper color, 1/4" off-white head. decent retention. the aroma is mostly cereal grains, mild earthy hops. the taste is a good balance of slightly sweet malt and very mild herbal hops. medium body, higher carbonation, appropriate for the style.

overall - easy drinking, but even for a pale ale, could have more hops for an American Style.
