Wow. Not your average hefeweizen; guess it is more of a weizenbock. Cloudy orange color, full Belgiany yeasty aroma, hearty taste. It's the full package. Might be too heavy for really hot weather, but an excellent fall or spring beer. Another homerun from brewer Brian O'Reilly.

Poured from a can into a pint glass, the beer was a hazy orange color with little to no head.
Pleasant aroma. Banana and citrus. Some sweet malt, and a little wheat.
Taste a little more muted. Banana and orange. Wheat.
A sweet, malt forward beer.
Pleasant enough, not great. A session beer.

Thanks to Exiled for sharing this beer. This is my first beer from Sly Fox.
The beer pours a hazy yellow color with a white head. The aroma is banana, cloves and circus peanuts. The flavor is wheat and banana with some clove notes. Medium, creamy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very nice hefeweizen.

Best by 8/17/10...Appears a golden sunburst hazed in all it's unfiltered wheat beer glory, large bright white head with fine intricate lacing. The nose is packed with citrus, banana, clove, and a slight vanilla tone, a bit of bubblegum thrown in as well. Bottom line a ton of esters and sharp expressive wheat notes, liquid bread is great. The first true hefe I've had canned. I was excited to see this show up at Robinson Beverage best by date of 8/17/10 canned all summer long baby. It's like a banana smoothie going down, citrus and wheat bite blends nicely a bit of vanilla/bubblegum and a touch of clove adds to some dryness. Yeast sediment is suspended evenly no big chunks but cloudy as hell. Mouthfeel is nice sturdy but no cloying carbonation light to medium bodied smooth drinking beer that I'm glad to support in their new 24 pack sutcases they're selling, damn they look good.

I picked up 12 of the new cans to do some tailgating for the Phillies home opener. The game sucked but the beer was good. Sampled a can at home for the review. The beer poured a cloudy golden color with a thick head that runs away pretty quickly. The nose had some nice citrus tones in it. The taste was a refreshing wheat flavor with citrus notes and a touch of hops on the back end, all making for a well rounded and refreshing summertime beer. My new tailgating favorite and being blue, it may pass as a soda can in the parking lot of a game or concert.

Had on tap at Whole Foods in Glen Mills PA. Review from notes.
A: Pours a hazy light yellow color with a small white head on top. Medium retention, slowly reducing to a thin cap on top. Minimal lacing.
S: Lots of wheat, some yeast, and a good bit of banana. There is some light pepper and coriander as well.
T: Similar to the aroma with a good bit of banana and some doughy malt. More spice from the yeast as well.
M: Light to medium body with bubble carbonation. Drinks easy.
O: A pretty good hefe. If it were readily available where I lived I could see myself keeping it in the fridge.

12 oz can
App: super cloudy dark gold, almost amber in the wide areas I'd the glass
Smell: divine. A bouquet of fruit, malted wheat, slight herbal hops, and a decent dose of yeasty funk
Taste: a well rounded flavor combining elements of bread and grapes. Ends with a low but firm hop bitterness that essential to a good hefe.
Medium body with the tight carbonation found in the style. This one happens to be a little under carbonated for my tastes, but perhaps it is the batch.
Great stuff. On tap it's my favorite hefe. Good in cans but lacking consistency, so 4.5

Pours a light body with vast quickly disapearing head. The aroma was a bit funky yeast to me, with lots of spices to come. A medium mouthfeel, I have had some thicker hefeweiz, but do not recall such a spicey one with a spice rack full of corriander, cinammon, nutmeg, et al.Why there is two of everything on reviews of Sly Fox is much confusing.

A cloudy ruddy orange body rests beneath a frothy bright white head that holds well but eventually drops to a thin creamy surface covering. The body is medium (@ 3 Plato/1.012sg) with a very fine and lightly effervescent carbonation that leaves it quite creamy in the mouth. The nose offers bold aromas of apple, extremely ripe banana, and mildly spicy clove. These carry over into a rich flavor that also includes some light phenolics: a mild touch of vanilla, a gentle smokiness, and some minimal acetone. The bitterness is appropriately low, allowing the phenolics and the sweetness of the malt to act as the centerpoint, and yet it finishes short with just a thin lingering sweetness and very mild clove note. An exceptionally well done beer for the person who prefers a richly estery and phenolic weisse. Not to be missed.

12oz can, obtained via the pre-season football bif...consumed during the arizona-phili playoff game
appearance: poured into a lakefront pint glass, hazy orange-copper body, fluffy white crest with nice strong retention
smell: saison-like funk, yeast, green apple, clove and white pepper
taste: sweet and fruity, yeasty funk, green apple, corriander and white pepper. lacks a real punch
mouthfeel: oddly foamy throughout

A nice German style wheat beer. It goes with any food or alone and is very smooth and has a bit of citrus that lets it cut through the dry mouth and quenches the taste buds. It is good in the spring or summer since it is light and not as carbonated as other wheats. A great refreshing wheat.

Barvarian wheat beer with hersbrucker hops.
A: Poured a beautiful golden-orange that was cloudy by nature and was topped off by a bright white fluffy head that held up nicely leaving a moderate trail lacing.
S: The nose yielded a strong sense of wheat, bananas, cloves and some light bubblegum hints all combining for a very nice aromatic experience.
T: The flavor was sweet and spicy with lemony wheat, bananas, pineapples, and zesty dry oranges. There was some spicy citrus notes along with a light breadiness and good yeasty attributes.
M: light, creamy leaving a nice slick coating on the tongue of wheat and citrus all brought on by a crisp carbonation.
D: Overall a very nice spicy and sweet drinking weiss that you don't want to put down, very refreshing wit a nice lemony tang. Could drink this all night.

Served on-tap at the Warwick Hotel in Hummelstown, PA.
A: The ale is a cloudy autumn leaves of auburb yellow-and-brown hues. No head whatsoever.
S: The nose offers up some wheat, lightly tart, with a just a bit of weizen-like clove.
T: The weizen's flavor comes through more vibrantly in the taste. Banana and clove stand out, sweetening up the mild tartness of the wheat. Bready malts follow the wheat, adding body to the ale without siphoning off the sweetness.
M: The mouthfeel gets the job done, offering me enough wheat and yeast to get away from the pale wheat ale territory.
D: Another glass or two wouldn't anybody.

A - A finger's worth of tightly packed perfectly level slgihtly off-white colored head... Minimal retention gives way to nothing mroe than a slight collar and and splotchy veil of lacing... The color is an extremely pale bronze... There is a slight haziness... A moderate bit of carbonation that starts a bit sluggish before ending briskly...
S - Slightly over ripened bananas... Light cloves... Pleasant wheat base... Orange zest... A hint of bubble gum... A hint of tobacco...
T - All the flavors from the aroma materialize on the palate, but are a bit more muddled... The clove and bubble gum take a bit more priority... The banana takes a bit of a back seat... Some candied sugars as well...
M - On the lighter side of medium bodied... Light but brisk carbonation... A bit sticky... The finish is slightly hard to place, but its a bit off putting...
D - A solid and respectable hefeweizen from the fine folks at Sly Fox... An outstanding aroma and just a slight notch above average in all other facets... Tasty enough that I'll have no trouble finishing off the six pack I invested in...
