Pour - light golden in color, sort of a tannish orangish color but the light makes it look a little paler. Some cloudiness as well. Nice fluffy head that fades and leaves some nice lacing.

Aroma - all the aromas you've grown to love about this style are their. We're talking banana, clove, bubble gum along with some lemon and orange.

Taste - citrusy, biscuity, bananas, cloves along with a touch of sweetness a la apple sauce or juice. Plenty of estery goodness imparted by the yeast which gives this beer so much flavor. A tad bit of spiciness in the finish from the hops. Solid.

Overall - a solid hefeweizen from the folks at Sly Fox. They've taken a hard to can style and made it taste so simple. Great stuff, definitely worth trying if you can find it. If you're a big fan of wheat beers than this is for you.

Best by 8/17/10...Appears a golden sunburst hazed in all it's unfiltered wheat beer glory, large bright white head with fine intricate lacing. The nose is packed with citrus, banana, clove, and a slight vanilla tone, a bit of bubblegum thrown in as well. Bottom line a ton of esters and sharp expressive wheat notes, liquid bread is great. The first true hefe I've had canned. I was excited to see this show up at Robinson Beverage best by date of 8/17/10 canned all summer long baby. It's like a banana smoothie going down, citrus and wheat bite blends nicely a bit of vanilla/bubblegum and a touch of clove adds to some dryness. Yeast sediment is suspended evenly no big chunks but cloudy as hell. Mouthfeel is nice sturdy but no cloying carbonation light to medium bodied smooth drinking beer that I'm glad to support in their new 24 pack sutcases they're selling, damn they look good.

Served on-tap at the Warwick Hotel in Hummelstown, PA.

A: The ale is a cloudy autumn leaves of auburb yellow-and-brown hues. No head whatsoever.

S: The nose offers up some wheat, lightly tart, with a just a bit of weizen-like clove.

T: The weizen's flavor comes through more vibrantly in the taste. Banana and clove stand out, sweetening up the mild tartness of the wheat. Bready malts follow the wheat, adding body to the ale without siphoning off the sweetness.

M: The mouthfeel gets the job done, offering me enough wheat and yeast to get away from the pale wheat ale territory.

D: Another glass or two wouldn't anybody.

Had this beer on tap at Tap and Table on Sly Fox night. Since candle light is all there is in the T&T it was tough to get a great look but it seemed to be very hazy and straw colored. The cloudiness was as thick as I've ever seen on a Hefe. There was a great hefe aroma mostly cloves. The taste was the same almost all cloves but very smooth. The feel was creamy. I could drink more of these and will watch for them in cans.

Poured this brew into a Ommegang Chalice.

Pours a honey orange, with a white head that fades quickly. Some lacing.

Smells of bananas, yeast some malts. Some fruity smells as well.

Tastes of bananas, yeast, some maltly flavors as well. The brew is very drinkable. A bit of a cracker, bready taste as well.

This brew is very drinkable, tasty and creamy. A very solid Hefe. Not the best I have had - but very solid.

Poured from the can into a Weizen glass.

A: Dark, cloudy, copper orange, with a thick fluffy white head that left some decent lacing.

S: Ripe bananas, clove and malty wheat.

T: Clove, banana and some mild hop bitterness. Overall, a very nice take on the style. I was hoping for just a little bit more spicyness on my tongue though...

M: Somewhere in the middle of medium and lighter, nicely carbonated...

D: Very drinkable, I am very happy that I have a case of this.

Can into Weizen Glass.

A: Nice hazy looking straw color with a half finger of white head. Nice looking lacing as well.

S: Nice wheat right up front with a touch of mustiness. The clove is there but faint and there is a little bit of bubblegum. The yeast is not quite where I want it but it does smell really nice.

T: Nice classic heff taste. Really nothing to make it stand out. Really just a solid beer. The yeast does not give you as much as it did in the nose.

M: It has that wheat feel if that makes sense. Not quite thick but not light either. Low carbonation.

D: I drank a few of these while tubing and really enjoyed them. Just a great summer beer for the lake or river or whatever. Sly Fox does not disappoint.

Poured into an American pint glass from the can. Pours a hazy gold with hints of orange. Slightly murky with mild carbonation. Smells great with hints of german hops, german yeast, and wheat. The taste is decent, although I find it similar to the Pikeland Pils of theirs: very distinct potency of hops. Sharpe, rip, alpha-acid-y hops. Almost makes this beer a little too clean tasting. The hops are such a dominating punch, that the soft mellow character that I like in German Hefes is dried up. This also takes away from the mouthfeel and drinkability. Maybe it would be better if I waited 3 months to find the window where the hops begin to subside, but it doesn't taste like cardboard yet... might be tough.

A - poured out of a can into a weisse glass, creamy foamy head, cloudy golden-brown-orange.

S - banana, clove spiciness, coriander with a sweet hint of fruity butter.

T - sweet and mild apple with a distant numbing hop.

M - creamy with a good level of carbonation, medium bodied - the mouthfeel is more like an Irish stout that a weisse, but it works for me

D - Typical weisse drinkability

Wow, what a nice offering for an American made Hefe. Penn still beats it, but not by much, in my opinion. Pours a HUGE head with tracing down the glass. Smells of banana, clovey scents and tastes the same. A bit watery on the body. Falls just a bit short in taste compared to the rest of the beer. Needs a little more bold character. It is still, a great experience. I wish I had more than one.

12oz can poured into a weisse glass

A: nice hazy hay color, slightly rocky head but tall, diminishes fairly quickly but some does stay, sediment floating near the surface.

S: slight spicy clove character, pleasant aroma

T: nice clove with hints of banana and sweetness and subtle tartness. very nice flavor profile.

F: medium to light body with some fullness and richness, carbonation is good

D: good drinkability, easy to drink and very refreshing

Great lawn mower or golf beer, not a fine hefe but it doesn't need to be. Its qualities as a freshing beer is what makes this a keeper. I will be buying more.

Poured a can of this into a shaker glass.

A: Pours a hazy, golden body with a thick, white head with pretty good retention and lacing.

S: A pretty sweet, malty smell with some slight banana notes.

T: A slightly metallic, malty taste with some metallic, alcohol aftertaste. The banana notes seemed to disappear and the alcohol was a bit much, especially for the style. As I drank it more, it seemed that it was a bit too much of a sweet juice as opposed to a malted beverage.

M: Seemed a bit overcarbonated and unimpressive.

D: Ok drinkability overall, but the taste and the mouthfeel were not very complimenting to each other. The carbonation was definitely overpowering and the taste seemed a little too juice-like and sweet.

Big thanks to zathrus13 for sending this one via Eric. Pours a cloudy apricot color with a medium white head. The aroma is full of many different things; dried bananas, wheat, cloves, and some wheat. The flavor is also quite nice; a rich apricot and spicy mix, some yeast and dry wheat flavors, a bit of citrus, tangy lemons and some apple cinnamon too. A great full and creamy mouthfeel. Overall, a rich and tasty Hefe, and a nice example of the style.

Barvarian wheat beer with hersbrucker hops.

A: Poured a beautiful golden-orange that was cloudy by nature and was topped off by a bright white fluffy head that held up nicely leaving a moderate trail lacing.

S: The nose yielded a strong sense of wheat, bananas, cloves and some light bubblegum hints all combining for a very nice aromatic experience.

T: The flavor was sweet and spicy with lemony wheat, bananas, pineapples, and zesty dry oranges. There was some spicy citrus notes along with a light breadiness and good yeasty attributes.

M: light, creamy leaving a nice slick coating on the tongue of wheat and citrus all brought on by a crisp carbonation.

D: Overall a very nice spicy and sweet drinking weiss that you don't want to put down, very refreshing wit a nice lemony tang. Could drink this all night.

Got this beer from mikesgroove!

Pours a murky honey color, foamy tan head fades slowly, leaving some nice sheets of lacing behind. Great nose on this beer...lots of pepper and spice, banana, bready & yeast aromas. Taste follows right behind, a little more banana flavor than the nose would imply, some bitterness on the back of the tongue. Bubbly, refreshing, and drinkable as hell. This is good stuff.

a: The color was right, a hazy, murky straw color. Unfortunately this was served to me in a pint glass filled to the very top. I swirled myself a head after a few sips.

s: All the right aroams are here, not as sweet as some hefes.

t: Drier and less sweet than other hefes, very nice. Mild spice and flowers at the end.

m: Thick, chewy, and creamy. Spot-on.

d: These folks make a great hefe.

Pulled off my addiction to the Pikeland Pils to give this can a try.

Can poured into a weiss tumbler.

A: Fuzzy yellow with a substantial, thinly bubbled, lasting head. After a while, looks like dishwasher detergent bubbles over apple juice.

N: Good banana and spice aromas. Strongest asset of this beer by far. Banana yeast dominates the hell out of this beer along with cotton candy.

T: Some citrus, even less black pepper pop. Not much carryover from the smell. Upsettingly bland, I want cotton candy. It is still sweet but disparate from the taste. Aroma wrote checks that the flavor's ass cant cash.

M: Dont like the term, but this one is truly crisp. Very mild spiciness, nice mouthfeel.

D: Surely drinkable, goes down smooth. Just not much more, no bells or whistles that stand out. Strongly prefer Weihenstephaner or FFF for this style.

Not bad but boring to me, back to the greatness that is the Pikeland Pils. Wouldnt be a bad drink on a hot summer day but surely no German beast. I like Sly Fox a lot and will be back on board soon.

had this at the memphis tap room from a fresh keg. Very nice color--cloudy golden with a nice head that left substancial lacing. What struck me most was the sour aftertaste. It had a good start--slightyly bitter but overall refreshing. I think I'll have to try it again. Overall I think it was a very good representation of the style from color to overall apearance to presentation. It was late and I think my taste buds were on overload.
My tastebuds muist have been on overload that night. The flavor is slightly spiced with clove,
citrus and leaves a crisp, dry aftertaste. Highly drinkable, nice medium bodied flavor, not too heavy.

Single, twelve-ounce can purchased from Buy Rite on Oak Tree in South Plainfield...
A hefty pour yielded a bright-orange colored-hue with rising carbonation and a moderately-sized foamy head that quickly receded and left a small amount of lacing around the serving glass...
Sweet aroma replete with oranges, wheat, and citrus...
Taste was rendolent of fresh tangerines, wheat, yeast, ripe fruit, and sweet citrus...
Nice mouthfeel, creamy, and sweet with a good level of drinkability to match...

again, another lackluster pour from the tap, so i won't hold that against this beer.

overall, this is a pretty decent wheat beer. if it were a bit lighter i'd say it'd be a dead ringer of a bavarian styled hefewiezen, but the body's color lends itself more to an american wheat beer. good fruitiness from the yeast and has a great malt character of abundant sweetness. i don't know how this would taste out of a can, which seems to be sly fox's M.O. lately, but from a tap this is a top notch beer.

This beer pours a beautiful cloudy golden color. Proper head for the style, decent carbonation. Nice particulate matter throughout that readily sediments.

The bouquet has sweet tones (light apricots is what I got), but plenty of grains and yeast. Very light malt on the backnose.

Plenty of fine citrus and grain on the taste. Pleasing aftertaste that dissipates. The taste goes well with the body which I thought was a bit light for the style. Mouthfeel was good.

A fine tasty for a hot day. Gonna bring this one to the blues picinic over the summer!

Pours a very clouded orange amber with a nice off-white head. Nose is a heavy yeast. Kind of an earthy tar tone to it. Flavor is earthy yeast and very strong at that. Robust. Thick. Deep. Feel is thick on liquid and nice on the carbonation. Overall I have to say this is a pretty tasty brew. Hearty and deep, but definitely worth trying. Especially with all this craft brew in the can stuff going on.

Hey now, pours a deep golden color - rich deep golden. Big head is to style.

Nose primarily of banana, a little close - a hint of burnt malt. Reminds me of Sprecher hefe, and some German examples.

Great mouthfeel upfront. Citric bite hits. A big banana flavor - then pow - the burnt maltiness takes over. That is a bit of a detractor for me. Still - to style. The banana flavors are very nice. Am I tasting a "tin" flavor or is it my mind?

An excellent hefe. I can't believe this is a canned beer! Sly Fox is cranking these days!
