This Abbey-style Quadruple brewed with German Pils and Roast malts and dark candi sugar, hopped with German Tradition hops. Luscious and seductive, Ichor is brewed for both the body and the soul. This beer will improve with careful aging but is ready to drink now.

Very nice quad. Nice appearance, smooth drinking, not too sweet, worth having.

Poured from a cork and cage bomber into a Dogfish Head tulip. I took the cage off and set the bomber on the counter... about a minute later the cork flew off.
L: Cloudy dark reddish copper pour. Massive foamy off-white head that lasted and lasted. Crazy lacing.
S: Dark fruits and even darker candy sugars mixed with spice. Smells like a quad.
T/F: Taste is good... a bit sweet and heavy on the dark sugars. Caramel and baked goods... a dash of autumn spices, and definite dark fruits present. Fig and raisin. Very (over?) carbonated... thick and sticky on the mouth. Warming and a bit boozy. Finish is more brown sugar.
O: A tasty quad. Not the best I've ever had but far from the worst. The flavors are all there, but it trends an ooch too far to the 'sweet'. This would be a great 'gateway' beer to the bigger Belgian offerings, and one of the better Sly Fox brews I've had.

1/8/17....pours murky brown, mostly dark. Active fizzy foam builds high. Chocolately nose, subtle cherry fruits. Super carbonated malty mess. Disjointed bitter amidst the fizzy astringency. Hard to discern much in the mix. Not sure what happened, but this one bombed for me.

I was pleasantly surprised by this bomber that I picked up on a discount rack . It was full of flavor, nice foamy head and the 10% Quad kick was just perfect. Highly recommended American Belgian Quad :)

Deep garnet color with a half finger of airy, off-white head. Sweet smelling with plum, dates, red wine, a little oak and a touch of vinegar. Much thinner bodied than expected. Much of the aroma carries over to the taste, but in a much more muted form, other than it is intensely sweet. Tastes like there's sugar added -- something you'd pour over pound cake.

Undated 750 mL bottle at 42 degrees into snifter
Aroma of sweet fruit, weakens but lasts entire bottle
Head enormous (eight cm, slow pour), very light tan, frothy, slooowy diminishing to very irregular frothy ring and heaped frothy Island
Lacing patchy at best – some small to medium islands of tiny to medium bubbles and some ring drag
Body dark amber, clear - lot of sediment in bottom but a careful decantation fixes that
Flavor starts very sweet, tasting of brown sugar, then morphs into dates and figs; no hops, no alcohol, no diacetyl
Palate full, syrupy, soft carbonation
Appearance 4.5, Aroma 4, Flavor 4, Palate 4, Overall 4
This was one of my first quads 'way back when. Revisiting it now that I know what a quad actually is, I found it surprisingly good.
