can from Sly Fox that my sister brought home for me
A-golden, yellow straw colored ale with a full head that bubbled up very high left a bit of lace in a pint glass.
S- Strong hop spice for the style--pleasant and apparent--you don't have to search for it like some pilsners. Something of a cream corn smell underneath but not problematic.
T- light malt pairs well with a good hop character that flows from front to back nicely with little chage. Dry finish. No unpleasant aftertaste at all that can happen with such a light beer.
M-solid mouthfeel, even a bit chewy for a pilsner. Good.
Overall--a very solid interpretation of the style, German in character--definately not a weak American lager version.
Crazy check--I seem to be right on or the low side compared to other reviews. Several noted the hoppy character for the style, which is nice, but the smell and the fact that the taste suffers after warming even for a short time keep me from pushing the score higher. My ratings of Sly Fox are always higher on site when I've been there, so might try this one there next trip to compare on draft.

Pours a clear light amber with a moderate white head. Fragrance is bready and floral. Taste is malty, bready, dry and crisp. Just what I expect and like in a German style Pilsner.

Starts favorably with a big stiff head and bright malt and grass notes in the nose. Flavor is pretty cut and dried: solid balance with cracker or biscuit evening out the peppery and mildly spicy hops. Texture is tight most of the way through. This is better than average for the style.

From a can. Yummy. Pours a cloudy orange yellow. Crispy crackers with a bit of lemony funk. Medium light body with a dry finish. Not exactly to style but already a favorite.

Appearance: Pours a clear, rich yellow-hued body with a flush of white foam.
Smell: Crackery with a faint, far-off toastiness to it. Lightly grassy, dried floral tones imparted by the hops.
Taste: Crackery, though there is a little toasty and with a background graininess. Thin flickering of cereal sweetness. A dried floral, grassiness with a mild touch of bitterness to sweep away the sweetness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Quite decent.

Poured a clear golden with a vibrant head of white foam. Scent is classic pils with a bit of a hoppy bite. Taste has a nice crackery malt up front followed by a decent grassy and spicey herbal note. Feel is crisp with a nice bold hoppy finish. Overall a nice pils and an interesting offering.

Pours a clear yellow color with a sudsy white head that provides significant lacing. Beautiful pilsner. Nice noble hop aromas on the nose, with a bit of white bread as well.
Nicely bitter noble hop flavors of lemongrass lead the taste, with a nice bit of bread for balance, which is complemented by the clean, crisp mouthfeel. Really good stuff here, IMHO.

Northern German-style Pilsner, poured from a can:
L- Light gold, moderate carbonation, one finger lacing
S-Biscuit
T-Crisp, light refreshing, typical for this style.
F-see above.
O-Above average for a Pils. Good summer beer for after a law mow or athletic activity, in my case kicking back after tennis.

Taster flight at Sly Fox. Clear goldem pour, small white head. Not too bad, but still lacking some of the crispness of the continental varieties. Nice body, et al but falls short

Poured at fridge temp into a willi glass.
Pours bright gold with a soapy white and loose head. 3.75
Punchy and juicy bitter hop aroma. 3.75
Just clean malt and slightly bitter herbaceous hops. 3.5
Light body, very refreshing and quenching, almost juicy filling quality to it. 3.75
Overall a simple and enjoyable summer 'working' beer if I had to classify it in a nutshell! 3.75

Pretty solid Pilsner.
My only concern is the slight metallic taste that it has.
Then this was poured from a can.
I like this one, a fine Pilsner beer.
