I let one cellar for a couple years, ages very well and imo was a lot better aged than fresh. A lot more dark chocolate and mocha to the taste as it sits. I definitely wish I had more. (184 characters)

Poured from a corked and caged 750 bottle into a snifter glass.

A: A jet black color with a large two finger light brown head. Looks pretty good.

S: Huge roasted smells with burnt notes and little else. Really roasty.

T: This is where things go south. The flavor is roasted to the point you don't get much else. Some burnt flavors mix with in that turn bitter but it's not a hops bitter, it more just like plain bitterness. Sweetness underlies, but the roasty and burnt flavors just completely take over anything else. Finish is still bitter with a huge metallic off putting finish. Totally disappointed in this.

M: With all the roasted flavors, the mouthfeel is bitter but not full. Very strange.

O: This is a beer I totally did not enjoy, in fact I didn't even finish the 750 which is not my style. Something in this beer is just not right.

Shame, I normally love Sly Fox stuff and I'm a big fan of theirs. This one however is a clunker. (945 characters)

Not a typical Russian Imperial Stout floating around now a days. The strange thing about this beer is the real lack of malt, it comes off very floral with a light almost honey like sweetness. It's also quite spritzy to the point that it's hard to place this beer. (263 characters)

Poured out as a black ink-like liquid with a brown colored head on top. The retention was thin with a scattered lacing on the glass. The smell of the beer had a lot of roasted and burnt aromas coming off of it. The taste of the beer was more burnt than the nose, the bitterness reminded me of a burnt toast flavor. The mouthfeel wasn't really thick enough in my opinion to fit the style but it was drinkable . Overall it's too roasted, not enough sweetness or hop bitterness in this beer at all. This isn't something I would seek out again. (540 characters)
