Poured on a hazy Memorial Day afternoon...
Appeared - with a firm, frothy, hite, 1" head and mostly diminsihing lacing through the draft. Nice, clean, clear amber to orange body.
Smelled - as most Sly Fox IPA's do, very lightly. Being an addition of a few varietal hops, this does give off a light hoppy nose, with a backbone of light resin. Oddly, you can pull just a little of yeastiness out of it, maybe even a bit of cardboard or paper.
Tastes - as all of the aromas, with a bit more. This is where some of the light citrus punches cmes through, but the combination of hops smoothes out any one distinguishing factor here. A soild IPA, and just as good in bottles than on tap, unless you get a Firkin Friday offering, then we are talkng about serious changes.
Mouthfeel - somewhere etween the usual, expected average watery blend to approaching the oiliness of an Odyssey Imperial IPA.
Drinkability - these combinations of hops and feels, with an average ABV for the style, make this a backbone of the Sly Fox arsenal. You can spend a long time with this berew. Lord knows I have.

Appearance - Cloudy, burnt orange with a two-finger width, light tan, soft/frothy head. Head slowly disappears and leaves lacing all the way around the glass.
Aroma - Combination of caramel sweetness and floral/resinous hop flavors.
Taste - Similar to the smell with the caramel sweetness and the floral hops.
Mouthfeel - A very, very bitter IPA that almost numbs the tongue. Slight carbonation. Some stickiness to go along with the overpowering bitterness.
Overall - First beer from Sly Fox. Didn't have any real expectations going into it other than knowing it would be a bitter IPA at 113 IBUs. The bitterness of the beer just overpowered all the flavors/aromas which took away from my overall perception of the beer.

Six pack from Giant Eagle $9.99
Undated can at 40 degrees into goblet
Head average (3 cm), off white, frothy, mostly lasting
Body dark orange, hazy
Flavor begins with a piney bitterness, no malt, no alcohol, no diacetyl
Ends with a light chalky astringency
Palate medium, slight oilyness, carbonation lively
I’ve had this on draft, in bombers, and in cans. It’s a nice, go-to IPA, easy drinking.
