Draft at John Wright in Wrightsville, PA.
Interesting that's it's labeled an IPA. It's got a malt sweetness followed by a modest hop bite, followed by a rather odd aftertaste that's anything but IPA. Too much maltiness, too much sweetness. It's not bad, but it's not an IPA. All things considered, I'd call it an ESB. And there are better ESB's out there.
This is worth a try, but I wouldn't buy a case of it.

Clear light copper with dense white head, good retention, rings of lace
Citrus, floral, earthy, and piney hop aroma, a bit of sweet malt underneath
Citrus, floral and earthy hop flavor, toasty and caramel malt, resinous finish
Medium bodied and appropriately carbonated
This beer is a real throw back

Draft at brewery. Amber body, aroma perfect blend of malt and hops. Taste Ramos up the bitterness, but still some caramel malts in there. Dry bitterness lingers.

See through amber look with a big off white head. Caramel malt forward nose with not much sweetness and an almost vegetal back. Malty flavor with a big bready ending, some pine in there. Decently carbonated, I might be getting something metallic from the can. Meh No offense but Sly Fox is very middle of the road.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Nearly clear dark golden amber pour. 2 fingers of foamy white head... great lacing.

S: Caramely sweet malts... resinous hops. Pine and citrus rind.

T/F: Follows the nose. Biscuity sweet malts and toasted grains. Quickly turns bitter... pine and citrus... a bit herbal. Balanced... the finish is evergreen and caramel malts.

O: An okay IPA. Big bitterness... no bad flavors... but nothing all that exciting either. The relatively high ABV hurts the drinkability. Don't love it, don't hate it... would drink it again.

12ox can into a pint glass. best by 1/19/17. kudos to Sly Fox for clear freshness dating. D'oh to me for not knowing what year it is now. a year past due. oh well.

looks good. faintly hazy amber body. good off white creamy head leaving gobs of lacing. steady carbonation.

sweet malty aroma.

as expected, due to the age, it is a malt bomb. but it's a pleasant enough drink, no nasty aftertaste, smooth and slammable.

mouth borders on full, finish is malty and slightly grainy.

Overall, not a disastrous purchase, and quite drinkable. will re-review if I come across a fresh one.

My standby. When I run out of the good stuff, this is my reserve. A great deal. The price is very good compared to the better known brews. Just bought another case yesterday. This is one that taste better each time I open another one.
