Poured from 750ml bottle into a goblet, with a fizzy 3 finger head that quickly fell to a persistent thin layer on top surface. Color is a clear amber-gold, carbonation is medium and steady. Left light lacing on the glass as it was consumed.
Aroma is strong bread/yeast, with some underlying notes of banana and citrus. Very clean, no mustiness.
Taste is quite malty-sweet upfront, with very present spicy notes and a crisply dry finish. Fruit notes became more discernible as the beer warmed (pear most especially.) Rather more apparent hops than I was expecting in this beer, but this balances out the early flavors quite nicely. This is a fairly high ABV Tripel-style ale, and the alcohol is quite present- this isn't a beer that will sneak up on anyone, though it doesn't kick you in the teeth quite as hard as some might expect of a beer this brawny.
Mouthfeel is very rich and full-bodied, very pleasant on the palate.
Overall, it's been a while since I've partaken of a Belgian-style ale, and this was an extremely solid representative of the form. I don't think it's quite as good as some of Ommegang's offerings, but definitely superior for my palette to Duvel (which is still a fine beer, IMHO.) Should pair nicely with dark breads and salty/strong cheeses.

A - Very hazy medium copper gold color with a substantial amount of small suspended floaties (even when pouring very quiet, Thin layer of head that's a bright white color and very sticky. As the beer warms the haze migrates to clear.
S - Crisp and spicy aroma with pear, apples, some apricot. Bright and fruity. Some straw funk.
T - Follows the nose. Spices, pears, apples, a touch of apricot, alcohol is very well hidden when it's cold but becomes a little more detectable as it warms. A little yeasty. As the beer warms, more honey starts to come through.
M - Lots of sprightly and mild prickly carbonation that gives way to a creamy finish. Leaves a spicy, slightly yeasty finish.
O - Tried some of the beers from Fox in the past and it's been hit or miss for me, this is one I'll go back and by more of. Nice job.

12/22...pours fizzy cloudy gold with heavy foam that sticks to the side. Fruity chalky nose. Kind of plain. Taste is a sweet fruity blend, some citrus, floral notes. Cherries, fruit juice, backed by a slight yeasty bitter. Clean and crisp. Overall nice blend, good flavor.

Nice spicy tripel, just a touch of tanginess, some floral notes, clear golden body with active carbonation. Decent fluffy head shrinks to small lasting head. A tripel with a little bit of bite.
