Hazy and honey-colored, this multigrain pale ale was created to celebrate the bounty of the mountains! Barley & wheat malt combined with flaked corn and toasted wheat form a beer perfect for an autumn weekend.

A: This poured a clear gold with a little white head.
S: It smelled like earthy barley and creamy wheat, with some light copper hops and citrus zest.
T: It tasted like light barley and wheat bread, with some citrus and copper hops. It had an earthy bitter aftertaste.
M: It was watery with moderate carbonation. Decent body.
D: This was an ok English ale, but the scent and taste weren't very enjoyable. The body was a little weak too, and the finish wasn't all that clean, so it wasn't so easy to drink. Not recommended.

I have no idea what a rustic, multi-grain ale is, but Stringduster is one! It pours gold and hazy and tastes like, well, an old school english ale. Not a ton of hops, or a real malty backbone, just an easy drinking ale that would have qualified as 'fancy' twenty years ago.

Poured from a bottle into a shaker pint, the beer is a slightly hazed, honey gold coloring with a low profile, filmy, white head. Aromas of subtle honey, toasted wheat crackers, and highlights of lemon zest and cedar. Flavors are richly sweet forward, honey and caramel, with pepper spice notes, grassy overtones, and an earthy backbone. The body is smooth and dry, with a subtle edge to it. There is a richly sweet, subdued aftertaste, with only hints of the hops characteristics. The finish is smooth, dry, and clean.

A: Pale yellow with a little bit of haze. A decent amount of white head on top.

S: There is a bready aroma like multigrain wheat bread in the oven. Light fruitiness.

T: Very grainy, with a touch of bitterness. Very interesting malt profile, malty, with a hint of tartness. Something almost lager like about it, refreshing, but something in there that I am not necessarily in love with.

M: Medium light, with moderate carbonation. The carbonation is fine.

O: Not a bad beer, but not fantastic either. At the time of this review it was listed as an APA, which seems like a complete error.

This is listed as a Pale Ale, but drinks more like an English Pale than an American pale. Per the menu, "A hazy, honey-colored multigrain Pale Ale created to celebrate the Bounty of The Mountains! Barley & wheat malt combine with flaked corn and toasted wheat to a form a beer perfect for an autumn weekend. Our way to thank the Stringdusters for inspiring The Festy! 4.2% abv, 22 IBUs". Each grain is easily picked out of the flavor, but none of them overpower the pallate. This is a fine beer for autumn and went really well with the turkey burger w/ butternut squash chutney and brussel sprout petals I ordered.
