A: Pale golden amber in color, with a nice white head on top.

S: It smells like a cool spring breeze drifting across an orange orchard. Citrus peel, orange, tangerine, and grapefruit. There is almost a slight yeast aroma, and a little earthy bitterness in the end.

T: Nice and hoppy, a bit of orange peel from the smell comes in, but the flavor definitely has some resin and grapefruit in it. A touch of caramel rounds out the finish with some earthy and spicey hop notes.

M: Medium body, the carbonation is probably on the higher side of medium slightly drying finish, and a lingering bitterness.

O: Overall this beer is pretty good. Solid bitterness, good flavor, and enjoyable.

A: pours amber with a nice persistent thin white head. Fair lacing.

S: Hop forward as expected. Mostly pine and a bit of citrus. Some grapefruit and a touch of onion/garlic aroma I'm guessing from summit or possible simcoe late hopping. Hints of caramel malt are definitely in the mix.

T: Pretty much matches the aroma, nice complex floral and grapefruit hop flavor with an ever-so-subtle onion flavor I the background. Caramel malt comes through nicely but takes a back seat to the hops. Bitterness isn't overwhelming but adequate and balanced to the hop flavor. A short bitter aftertaste lingers along with some bready flavor in a relatively dry finish

M: medium light body, clean mouthfeel, not harsh at all.

O: I like this IPA. It's lighter on the bittering hops and shows a very good use of multiple hop flavors. I'm not a big fan of overusing the onion/garlic flavored hops, but I do like a bit in the mix with some brews. This is a prime example of this. It adds a level of complexity that balances well with the malt and bready flavors on the backend. Overall a well done IPA.

Eight Point I.P.A. has a thin, off-white appearance, a somewhat hazy, orange appearance, a few stray, ascending bubbles, and heavy lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet, white bread and grapefruit hop resin. Taste is of upfront bitterness, resin, grapefruit, sweet, white bread, and some sugariness. Mouthfeel is on the medium side, and Eight Point I.P.A. finishes mostly dry and pretty easy drinking.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a dimpled mug.

Appearance: medium golden hue with no haze and a moderate effervescence. Head is a thin finger of frothy white foam with an OK lace.

Smell: lightly malty with a little bit of toast and some floral, soapy hops. Reminds me a little more of an APA than an IPA, but it's not bad.

Taste: much like the aroma, there's a big dose of floral/soapy hops followed by a drier, toasty malt. Bitterness is relatively low. Not bad, but it definitely doesn't blow me away.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a well-integrated carbonation and a decent creaminess. Here's an area where this beer really appeals to me.

Overall: tasty enough and certainly drinkable, this beer doesn't necessarily inspire me. I think it might be better called a regular pale ale with its particular flavor profile.

Almost clear and golden in color with a 2 finger off white head which dissipates rather quickly but leaves some nice lacing. Pretty decent carbonation.

As expected, very hop-forward in the aroma. Mainly pine and over ripe citrus.

Kind of laid back on the taste compared to the aroma. The bitter aspects of the hops seem to come through more than the aromatics at first, but then some pine shows up a little in the aftertaste. Just a hint of sweet malt to balance the bitter and the light spice.

Medium bodied, with light syrup. Somewhat warming, actually, call it hot.. Almost drying in the end.

Overall, a pretty decent sampling from DB. Appropriate for a hot summer night. I'll try it again.
