Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a deep golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, some light malts, not much going on. Taste is bitter up front, piney, some caramel malts at the finish. Decent, but nothing special. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall isn't bad, but nothing to go looking for.

Rich golden color, brilliantly clear. Big white head, creamy and long lasting.

Piney hop notes make it up through the head, some fruity/citrusy/orange aromas as well. Not overpowering with aroma, but the aroma is delicious.

Wonderfully complex hop flavors balance out some malt sweetness. Hints of pineapple and orange. Hop bitterness is present, but is exceptionally clean. Finishes with a nice soft, lingering bitterness. Flavor wise it may be straddling the APA/IPA border.

MF - Medium body and carbonation. No astringency or warming.

Overall - A really nice hoppy American ale. The hops used work together very nicely, and create an eminently drinkable beer. Not overpoweringly bitter - guessing a good chunk of the IBUs are achieved from later hop additions.

Poured from a bottle into a shaker pint, the beer is a bright, light caramel coloring with a steady flow of carbonation throughout and a filmy, clingy, off-white head. Aromas of toast, tangy caramel, and subtle bitter notes. Light nose. Flavors are roasted and sweet forward, with a toasted and piney hops character throughout. Slight pepper spicing, with a solid caramel presence to keep a sweet overall feel on the palate. The bitterness definitely builds towards the tail end of the palate. Smooth, mid-bodied that is kept light by the carbonation. Great lacing left along the glass as you drink. Well crafted. The aftertaste is bitter and spiced, with a slick, smooth, slightly dry finish. Tasty beer, and it feels heavier than any of the characteristics or ABV would lead you to believe. Very nice.

A: A briliantly clear light copper color with under a finger of bright white foam that quickly fell. A small ring of tiny bubbles clung to the edge of the glass and a dusting in the center.

S: Very light grapefruit, with a hint of citrus for hop aroma. A notable amount of fruity esters maybe from the yeast. and bready base malt aroma.

T: The same grapefruit and citrus flavors comethrough in the begining to provide a modest bitterness that leaves a bit of a harshness on the pallet as it washes over. Malt profile comes through with toast, caramel and toffee notes that holds the bitterness niceley but the balance is on the hop side (as it should be for an IPA). A

M: Carbonation is on the low to mild side with a light body. The harshness of the hop character lingers on the pallet after a few sips and becomes slightly oniony.

O: This boarders on a Pale Ale in modern times and with the hop flavor being similar to alot of APAs (SNPA, cascades maybe?) not a bad APA but when categorized as an IPA it falls short.
