While we were fishing on the Chesapeake Bay, we got the idea to make a beer that helps it look nice for a long time. So we partnered with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to help do things like add oyster reefs back to the Bay. Striped Bass is gold, light in body, and mixes five quality malts with a mix of German & American hops to give it a pleasant hop bouquet. Devils Backbone proudly donates $1 per case sold to support CBF’s mission to save the Bay.
Malts: Pilsner, Vienna, CaraStan, Special Aromatic Malt, Malted Wheat
Hops: Simcoe, Cascade, Citra, Calista

From the can, it pours a nice golden amber with a nice off-white head that slowly dissipates. In the nose, definite hops and a bit of malt. In the mouth, a nice hoppy malt beverage.

Decent sessionable ale ok aromas consisting of strong bready malts, and a backbone of citrus makes this a great light tasting refreshing low-cost option.

Can into pint glass. Pours light amber with a nice off-white head. Initial impression is floraaal hops, citrus rind, caramel and bready malts. Mouthfeel is slightly above medium; carbonation is just enough to bring out the taste. Finish is slightly bitter. Overall, a good pale ale - not my favorite, but certainly not something I would turn down.

This one pours a light amber color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like malt, spice, grapefruit hops, and grass.
This is fairly simple, but tasty enough. It's well balanced between sweet and spicy malt flavors, and bitter and just slightly fruity hop flavors. It's fairly simple, and not going to knock your socks off.
This is light bodied, crisp, clean, and super drinkable, with a typical level of carbonation.
I'm not going to exactly seek this out again, but it was worth a try for sure.

On tap in a pint glass.
This beer is beautiful. It poured an electric amber color with a 1-plus F of white fluff that endured and never fell below a thick film. Web, spot, and ring lacing. Steady bubble activity in the bright clear liquid.
Slightly sweet caramelized malt, grassy, light floral hops.
Floral hop over bold caramel pale malt. Faint citrus.
Medium body, very good feel. Malt backbone, hop bite, drinkability. It feels bigger than 5.0% abv.
It was a pleasant surprise that came up short only in the aroma category. Overall, where's the love?

I agree with the better reviews here, which are widely dispersed.
A) Pours a sharply amber glowing and slightly hazed body with a bright, energetic two finger head with lots of stick and lace.
S) offers a balanced mix of floral hop, sweet malt base, and bread. Spicy. Flower store and spice.
T) Bigger and bolder in the mouth, with abundant, pungent balance of floral and spicy hops on a sharp malt base.
F) Nice tickle, texture and feel. Cleansing and big.
O) Excellent brew, deserves better scores.

12 oz can at the 2017 Suwannee Roots Revival Festival in Florida.
Bold for style with very good balance and a relatively heavy malt load.
Lively carbonation in a medium, amber body.
