A- Clear dark yellow with a small head that doesn't lace.

S- Sweet, slightly funky, with alcohol notes.

T- Sweet upfront and piney/resiny in the middle. The alcohol makes an appearance at the end along with spicyness.

M- Thick bodied with moderate carbonation.

O- An average IIPA, nothing special, but not bad.

O-

Poured into a tulip

A- Pours bright, clear and golden in color with lots of carbonation bubbles shooting up to the top, producing a nice thick foamy and sudsy head, that retains long after the pour

S- Cantaloupe and melon fruitiness up front, some tropical mango and pineapple. Citrus, floral and herbal hops with some earthy hemp, grassy and spicy to close it out

T- Very sweet and sugary up front with a slightly bready malt, nice mix of citrus, herbal and grassy hops. Tropical hop flavors close it out with more sweetness on the finish

M- medium body with low carbonation leads to a slightly foamy mouthfeel, ending with a smooth finish, alcohol is contained well

O- Quite possibly the sweetest DIPA that I've tried, but it's still very good. It does make it a bit hard to finish a whole bottle though. Still a good hop bomb and worth a try

Poured from the bottle into a Spiegelau Dogfishead IPA glass.

Easily one of the most perfect IPAs I have ever seen. An unbelievably crystal clear body, of shiny gold and orange, literally the perfect hue of orange and lemon yellows. Thin carbonation comes up, not overly excessive, slow at the bottom, faster at the top. It moves like liquid honey in a glass. Head is a perfect three to fingers tall, clumpy off white foamy and large. Not too big, not too small. Basically the perfect looking IPA.

Real interesting nose. Dank aromas, and a hint of mushy over ripe fruit. Hints of faint tropical hop notes, papaya mango also. Some woody like character to match. Real varied.

An extremely large and in control IPA. Large almost hop pine and dank aromas, with just the perfect amount of caramel sweetness poking through. Large hints of grapefruit crush on the finish, zesty, oily and long aromatics. Wonderful controlled honey like sweetness that doesn't get too boozy either, and brings out the liquid grapefruit in spades. Large controlled bitterness on the finish, and real lip coating soft sugars.

This is easily the best beer I have had from this brewery to date, they absolutely just nailed this.

Poured heavy down the side of a chilled pint glass

Appearance: A rich golden amber. Filtered, so its a see thru brew. White foamy head if poured with a somewhat heavy hand. Minimal lacing.

Smell: Mute, some caramel, malt, hints of cereal

Taste: Malty backbone, sticky, nice hoppy bitterness as citrus rind reigns supreme, honey note

Mouthfeel: Nicely balanced carbonation, creamy and moderately thick

Overall: This was a very enjoyable DIPA*. While looking for Hopslam earlier in the month, one of the beer guys at TW recommended DB Sixteen Point as an alternative. Not wanting to buy the 4-pak without any review knowledge, I opted to test drive a single bottle (which is nice about TW and their impressive single bottle selection). My only major let down was the nose/smell. Very muted and subdued.

Yep, I'll be back to get the 4-pak. Devils Backbone Brewing is beginning to make some noise and Sixteen Point should help bring some attention to their offerings. This is a solid DIPA and didn't disappoint!
