What a gorgeous setting in a valley surrounded by the devils backbone peaks of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It makes a great first impression as you drive into the spacious parking area and look over to the swiss-chalet style brew pub.
As I walked up to the front door I noticed an outside dining area and around the corner, a spot for smoker's to smoke and have a brew. I later learned they sell a couple of decent quality cigars at the bar.
The inside is nice with very high ceilings with large, manufactured wooden beams and rustic-modern ski lodge feel. There are a couple of seating areas and a very attractive bar area with the on-tap selection written on a chalk board. You can see the brewing tanks behind the bar.
I sat at the bar and chatted with the friendly bartender while having an Eight Point IPA and a Vienna Lager. I ordered their specialty grilled cheese sandwich with three cheeses and a very generous dollop of sweet chutney. It was delicious and very reasonably priced.
I'll take a few points off my review for no cell phone signal and no wifi. Other than that, I really enjoyed it here and will go back again.
