Finally found my way to Kickbacks and now the only question is, "What took me so long?"
The wife has no interest in craft beer and was hesitant to try it, but I convinced her telling her I heard the food was great and after showing her the menu posted on the internet, she was all for it.
A fun, lively atmosphere greets you as you enter. This is a beer bar, no question. A tap list of at least 60 (more on the way soon, according to Steve the owner) is listed on the wall with over 300 bottle selections as well. We were seated promptly and immediately greeted by our server Ron. He was very friendly and asked what styles I was into so he could offer suggestions. He returned with our drinks and took our order.
Our food arrived quickly and the food was very, very good. While enjoying our dinner, Steve the owner stopped by the table and chatted for about 5 minutes. He was very friendly and a great guy to boot. He told me about the future plans and asked if everything was to our liking and that if wasn't to let him know and he would take care of it immediately.
When my first beer was nearing the bottom of the glass, Ron returned and asked if I wanted another. I ordered a different beer and Ron said he'd be back shortly. It was very busy and Ron was handling many tables. I saw the bartender draw my beer and set it on the bar. I knew it was mine, and stared longingly at it while awaiting Ron's return. The owner Steve noticed this, got up from his table and served me my beer and apologized for the delay.
Once our dinner was complete, Steve came back over and very genuinely thanked us for coming in and we chatted for a few more minutes about beer and his future plans.
As I said my wife was reluctant to try Kickbacks at first, but when we left, she enthusiastically said she loved it and we should come back sooner rather than later (which means a lot if you know my wife!).
The "service issues" others have mentioned didn't seem to be a problem. Steve even noted he was aware of the reviews dissing the service and he was actively working on correcting that.
Overall, this is a GREAT place for beer and food and Steve the owner is a heckuva great guy. We will certainly be back soon.

I had been to kickbacks about 4 years ago and had a great experience. Previously the beer selection was vast and my server was knowledgable and helpful.
The second time around my experience was the complete opposite. They place felt dirty. The atmosphere was not good. The beer selection was abysmal. Instead of 60 some odd beers on tap it was more like 10-15 and not even good beers. I chose a Oskar blues Christmas ale my girlfriend had a bells IPA. My Christmas ale was the very bottom of the keg. It was flat and tasteless. Both beers were poured with WAY too much head. We ordered a burger and a panini sandwich to eat. The food came in time and tasted okay but as it cooled quickly the chicken in the panini became very dry. I tried to order a barley wine in a bottle. My waiter went to look, came back to the table and told me they were out. He didn't recommend any other beers or give me an alternative. He just walked off. A few minutes later he came back and I asked if they had ANY barley wines. Once again none. I tried one more time and asked for the Weyerhaeuser fifteen. This time they had the beer BUT it had not been in the cooler. I was told the beer could be ready in 8 min. Really?? How is a beer going to go from room temp to ready to drink in 8 min?
I politely said no thank you and asked for the check.
My impression is that this place is running in the negative and the owner/manager is putting no money into inventory.
I can't imagine this place staying in business. If they do they need to change their identity away from a high end craft beer restaurant and just be the local dive they have become.
