Light amber pour with a small white head enjoyed at Stub & Herbs.
Aroma is pretty malty, caramel malts with a nice little hint of spicy citrus hops.
Flavor is similar, with a nice sweet malt flavor coming from the caramel, and maybe even a touch of munich or biscuit malt giving a slight bready flavor, but the hops are there also. Citrus and spicy hop flavor are mostly what I can detect and there is a nice balance there.
This one is stronger than a typical APA, so I am not sure how it fits into that catagory. But this is a very easy drinking beer, scary for a 7+% beer.

2011 on tap at busters

from the brewery Description: Constant addition of fresh, organic Cascade hops from Hippity Hops Farms in Forest Lake, MN. Aromatic and caramel malts compliment the hop character for an incredibly balanced beer that celebrates the hop harvest without killing your tongue.

A- a clear golden yellow color with a fresh white head

S- nice hop smell very fresh and sweet with caramel malts and baked bread

T- was a sweet malt, coupled with pine/citrus fresh hops very tasty

M- medium carbonation with a nice hop bite that is sweet and fruity

O- thought this was delicious tasty with alot of sweet hops very drinkable a great fresh PA..would drink this again anytime

Had this on cask at Lift Bridge night in Edina

Served in a pint glass

Pours a small finger of off white head fades . Color is a slight hazed copper orange.

Aroma: Caramel and bready malts. Citrus notes with pine and floral hops.

Taste: a lot of bready malts with caramel flavors. Lots of pine and citrus notes with floral hops.

Mouthfeel: Bitter and thin. A lighter bodied beer with a decent amount of carbonation.

Overall, I have had better, but not bad for a cask pale ale. I am glad I got to try this one. It took a while for me to finish this pint.

good not great as the minnesota wet hops go, in my experience anyway, which is majorly limited. i liked their hop dish a little better i think. this just doesnt have much more to make it identifiable as a wet hop other than the aroma, which is easily my favorite part of this one. its got a great nose, more traditional hop varietals it seems, but plenty of them, and bushy and piney in the nose. the flavor though is just sort of a regular ipa, out dueled a little bit by the coppery malt base, and seemingly too balanced for a beer that is supposed to showcase the hops. i dont really get it. it tastes great though honestly, just doesnt show off as a fresh hopped beer. i thought the feel was lacking too, not having any of that vegetal sweet oil so many of these have, and seeming a little watery and bland on the palate as a result. carbonation is fine though, and the finish is great, more juicy hops left on the very back end after the grain sugar dissipates. i would drink a hop dish before i drank another one of these, but its worth trying, i suppose they all are...
