how am I one of only two people to give this beer a perfect review?!? this beer is amazing, I discovered it early in my craft beer drinking career, loved it then and still love now with over 550 different beers under my belt in the last 2 years. Just visited Liftbridge brewery for the first time last night, I wasn't overly impressed with the selection, considering they didn't have anything heavier or darker than their chestnut hill on tap or any of their specialty beers, but the service was great as well as the atmosphere, very, cozy and homey, good place to chill with pals for an hour or so on a Friday night. but on with the beer.
A: has a great pale/hazy light yellowish white color, nice foamy head
S: aromas of cloves and yeast with some strong wheat backbone.
T: just like the aroma, spot on for a beer of this style, definitely better out of a can (like all beer) or on tap, easy drinking lighter beer for warm weather, after mowing or on the beach.
M: medium high carbonation but great for this style.
O.A.: I think some people forget that this is not a TRUE saison, its a saison "style" I have not found a saison style that is better or even comes close, this is also one of my favorite wheat beers next to 312.

pint on tap at baldy's, a great BBQ place in dinkytown.

look is a orange yellow with a light dusting of foam. smell is musty wheat, grain, spice. taste is wheat, apple, pear, with a spicy clove finish.

good saison, but there are better options out there.

Appearance: Clear yellow, good head.

Smell: Yeasty, hint of lemon, clove.

Taste: Starts yeasty, then moves to a fruity mix with grapes as the most prominent. Moderately sweet, easy drinking.

Overall: Picked up a four pack of cans, as I'd like to encourage more breweries to go that direction. This is a perfectly decent saison, an easy drinking yeasty/fruity beer for about any occasion. Plus the brewery is probably the closest one to my house.

Yeasty, especially the first few hits, Belgian yeast spice, subtle banana ester, fine carbonation, malt, here comes a nice slightly bitter reminder of the spice, pleasant lingering aftertaste amalgam of all of the above. Every gulp a wonderful walk through the whole park every time.

I beg to differ with those of you giving this a mediocre rating. I don't even like the style, but this is working for me. Not a beer you would drink all day or everyday, but definitely an experience. I wonder what the saison drinkers think rating for kind? Served from bottle into a chilled glass in Minneapolis, very fresh. Maybe you guys are getting beer suffering from transportation issues. Try one near the source!
