An India Pale Ale potluck of seven hop varieties. This IPA pushes the boundaries and delivers what you would expect. This aggressively hoped IPA awakens the senses with aromas of citrus, fruit, and pine but will bombard your taste buds with hops, a subtle malt sweetness and notes of caramel that will put a smile on your face.

The sum is greater than the parts. Great copper color. Great lacing. Hop forward, zero hop finish. Real smooth during the swallow. Bread notes. Doesn’t overwhelm yet it’s good to very good overall

I am not sure if this is the same recipe as was last ranked. The can is certainly different than the one shown here. Overall, I am finding that this is close to my favorite ale right now. Since my tastes do change over time, take that for what it is worth. I find it has just the right amount and type of hops for my current taste. It has relatively high levels of hop flavor although I have certainly had IPAs with too much citrusy hops. This is not one of them. It has a great flavor and aroma, a very agreeable combination of citrusy hops. Also it has plenty of body and is not overwhelmed by the hops like some IPAs are these days. I strongly recommend you try this beer if you can get it.

12-oz can into VooDoo Ranger pint glass

A - 2-finger white fluffy head over a cloudy body of golden yellow

S - citrus, pine, tropical fruits, light bready malt, floral, funk; pleasant aroma, but weak

T - pine, citrus, funk, light bread; tart dry finish; complex, but not balanced--taste is just all over the place

M - chewy medium body, medium/high carbonation

O - middle of the road

L: Pale gold straw. Thin white head w/some lacing.
S: Light grass, bread, soft esters.
T: Fig, apricot, dry mango, peach, black tea, light malt/bread crust. Medium long hop finish.
F: Simultaneously fruity and hop forward, medium bodied. Rather soft and excellent carbonation throughout. It does have a softer mouth feel though it's hops and 7.5%ABV are politely assertive. Very juicy for a standard IPA. It's a winner.

Poured from a picture into a pint glass. Pours orange yellow with a fluffy white head. Smells of citrus hops with a hint of pine. Tastes of pine and citrus hops, with floral hits, very nice. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

A hop bomb for sure. So much pine on the nose with just a hint of malty-ness. Pours a translucent golden color. Loads of bitter pine on the palate that lingers and coats the tongue.

12/10/20...pours orange copper, foam settles out. Citrus nose, slight orange fruit tilt. Fruity, too. Flavorful floral open with a pepped up bitter wall open. Black peppery. Very nice IPA blend.

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from a beer store in LaCrosse, WI. It poured a slightly hazy orangish with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had fresh hop with medicinal highlights. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bitter pine and citrus characteristics. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it was a good beer.

Poured from a can into a tulip.

Pours amber-gold with decent head and excellent lacing that endures quite well. Hazy, but not cloudy.

The aromas are fairly moderate in strength and diversity. Honey-kissed malts are followed by orange/citrus, grassy, floral, earthy, and resin hop aromas, as foretold by the list of hop varieties on the bill.

The brew hits the tip of the tongue with a stout caramel malt presence, but the hops open up nicely and quickly, delivering orange, grapefruit, resin and, ultimately, some old-school tough-to-pin-down (but enjoyable) floral/earthy IPA bitterness at the end. Just a touch of booze.

The brew is nearly too malty, but the hint of booze and the carbonation brings it back from the edge. Not crisp but not sticky.

Overall, a solid tasty brew that may seem to some more like a DIPA in its flavor profile. It definitely straddles the line, but in a good way.
