i don't know how different its supposed to be, and i feel odd saying this, but i liked this can a lot better than i liked the bottle from crooked stave. gone was the funny cereal grain finish, and added in was a real sourness, not all acid, but puckery enough to be refreshing but not crowd out the malt base. pale in color but really heady, bone white and two inches high. a nose of cheerios, light citrusy hops, and brett, not unnecessarily complex, like a good wild ale to turn people on to the style. the flavor is light malt first and sour second, and its subtle sourness. however, it is a lot more sour than the crooked stave bottle was, and the finish is so much better, where i can taste the hops, the belgian influence, and less heaviness from the malt. medium bodied at lease, and carbonated well, but probably a little less than optimally. overall a great tallboy, one i would buy before the bottled version, but a true side by side would be worthwhile i think. tasty base wild ale, worth picking up.
