App: Intense copper color with hints of true red, brighter than most IPAs. A little bit hazy, but overall pretty clear. Active carbonation sustains one and a half finger rocky, cream colored head that clings tightly to the edges of the glass. Looks pretty good!

Smell: Pleasant nose of caramel maltiness with just a hint of piney sweet hops aroma. Not particularly strong bouquet. Well balanced and pleasant. Slight diacetyl smell.

Taste: Slight malt sweetness in foretaste, not as complicated as it should be. Slight toasted taste intermingled well with an assertive hops bite that falls short of truly bitter. Piney characteristics mostly with some citrus sweetness. Well balanced overall, but not remarkable. I will say however that the alcohol content is very well disguised and frankly a little dangerous. Slight bitterness in the finish with a little diaetyl to smooth things out. Would make a good session beer if you were out on the river.

Mouth: Smooth and easily drinkable, carbonation is fairly light and creamy, but still dances enough to excite the hops flavors.

A: Bronze and copper in color. Decent head.

S: Citrus, malt, and hops in smells. With a definite sweet presence.

T: Heavy malt flavor with bitter hops and fruity sourness.

M: Tropical hops feeling with strong malty character.

O: This is a decisive IPA. Either you like it or think it tastes funny due to the abundance of malt involved. I'm one of the lover's. Great IPA!

12 oz can pours a dark caramel color with an ample cap of creamy tan head. Nice retention and the lacing is a solid sheet of residual head on the glass.

Nose is way too malty for an IPA, burnt toffee and very little hops, maybe some leafy greens but that is about it. Not cool.

Taste puts out a bit more hoppiness but still is way to malty even for an English IPA. The malts are too bold, too sweet and too toasty. The bitterness is decent and there does seem to be some herbal hop flavors, but the malts (specifically toasty) are just too much. Mouthfeel is full, and the fine-bubbled carbonation is probably the best part about this beer. I finished my sixer over a couple weeks, but wasnt very happy about it. I can safely say I will not be buying this one again.

12oz can, from Tipsy's Liquor World, altogether well known by now.

This beer pours a slightly hazy medium copper amber hue, with two chubby fingers of puffy, chunky, and mildly rocky beige head, which leaves some decent creepy webbed lace around the glass as things slowly ebb away.

It smells of weirdly plastic-like pine resin, bready, lightly toasted caramel malt, and further acetone-heavy floral hop notes. The taste is more musty, strangely smoked, I think, caramel malt, with a bit of burnt orange peel citrus character, pithy herbal tea, and muted earthy, leafy hops.

The carbonation is a tad frothy, and little more, the body medium-light in weight, and still stupidly clammy for this style, or any other, for that matter, and 'smooth' by that very measure. It finishes on the sweet side, the standard caramel malt persisting, sure, while that compromised pine essence slowly abates.

I don't exactly know what Patagonian hops are, but if this is any indication, I'm not about to jump on any bandwagon for them. Barely an average pale ale, yet alone an American IPA, which is strange, because this brewery's DIPA is really quite stellar. Different hops, different day, different everything, apparently.

Appearance: Red amber glass struggles to hold a thin head, but manages to lace the glass a bit. Looks a little flat.

Smell: Pine tar and citric hops are present without being heady. Some grainy sweetness shows support and gives a full IPA nose.

Taste: Hops are front and center, but don't punch as much as I would prefer. Goes a bit toward the English IPA in hop intensity, but sports a full flavored American hop profile. Mild tea flavor gives some depth and complexity.

Mouthfeel: A gravelly prickly carbonation in a fairly cask level beer. Medium heavy body is a bit oily and lingers a bit after the swallow.

Overall: A fine American IPA. Toward the more balanced side, but that gives a bit of drinkability. Not disappointed that I picked up the 6, but there's a lot of IPAs out there; doubt I'll spring for more but glad I tried it.
