Our medium-bodied Brown Ale is brewed in the English tradition, with an infusion of American creativity. The rich, malty backbone balances an assertive hop character, and ends with a smooth, dry finish. Our Brown Ale boasts a dark brown body that supports a creamy tan head.

Lush light khaki colored froth... excellent retention... Color is a rich warm caramel brown... Nose is nutty and full of desert bread, raisins and brown sugar... Flavor profile is a bit more one dimensional... Bread crust and light brown sugar, not much else... Feel is on the lighter side of medium bodied... Just the slightest touch of a dry slightly chalky finish... Rock solid and enjoyable brown ale... Very well crafted and highly enjoyable...

L - Dark, frothy, holds head, decent lacing in the right glass too. Interesting they are referring to as an English Brown given the weight on this ABV.
S - Great, roasted toffee near coffee element on the nose - good malts here.
T - Where this upslope shines as one of their best; tastes like a traditional brown with a little more oomph and hop punch to the palate than one would expect.
F - No complaints; good carbonation, good palate impact, saturation, and nice, dry roasty finish.
O - Maybe still my fave from Upslope.

On-tap at Tempe Tavern, Tempe, AZ:

Pours deep brown with a thin head that doesn't hang around long. Spotted lacing sticks.

The smell is robust - caramel, toffee, brown sugar, chocolate, some coffee.

The taste is of brown sugar, chocolate, caramel. There is a touch of roast, but more of the balance to the sweetness comes from an earthy undertone. Long finish.

It is on the fuller side of medium-bodied.

A great example of a brown ale. It is smooth and easy to drink a few of these! An enjoyable brown ale!

Best by 11/29/18. 12 oz can poured into Calusa mini snifter.

Toffee pour folds into a deep brown color with a tall fluffy beige head of 2 fingers, with lace destroying the glass. Great stuff.

Holy smokes! Tons of brown sugar and chocolate on the nose. Silky chocolate milk and chocolate mousse. Coffee beans. Decadent; dessert-like.

Flavor brings forth some really nice chocolate-y notes with undercurrents of caramel and brown sugar. Piney hop bite stings from underneath that knocks the beer off-kilter a bit.

Creamy mouthfeel, really nice. Good carbonation level about medium. Medium bodied.

Overall, a very solid brown ale, highly recommended. The stabbing piney hop note is the downer of this beer, but the surrounding sweetness makes for a great sipper.
