Had a pint of this beer at the brewpub recently on a visit with my brothers and Fish113d.
Served in a standard pint glass, cold, the beer is a jet black color with minimal tan frothy head.
Aroma is sweet malt with roasted notes and general brown sugar. I get just a little earthy hop mixed in but overall the aroma is fairly mild.
First sip reveals a lighter body with fine fizzy carbonation. Texture is a little thin and the beer is extremely easy to drink.
Flavor is sweet malt with brown sugar and an almost cola like quality. I get a little roasted note and faint earthy hops again on the finish. No hints of booze which fits as it is low ABV.

Definitely a sweeter beer but not over the top in that matter.

Not a bad choice for a winter sessionable beer at ~4.1%. I enjoy this one and would drink again on future visits to Bube's if it is available.

On tap at Bube's.

Near stout like black with a thin tan head. Sweet chocolate-y aroma with light caramel and minimal roast. Robust flavor, cocoa caramel and milk chocolate. Creamy, medium body with light carbonation. A little less roast and sweeter than expected, but a pleasant schwarz.

Transcribed from undated notes.

This was presented with a big, fluffy two fingers' worth of deep-brown head with excellent retention. Color was a deep, dark-brown with low light penetration. Nose was very chocolaty, more milk chocolate than semi-sweet. Mouthfeel had a slightly powdery feel, along with a cocoa-like taste on the tongue. Finish was mildly chocolaty. I was told that this beer can sometimes have a diacetyl problem, but since I rarely sense it in any beer, I did not sense it here either.

Served on-tap at the brewpub.

A: The schwarzbier is black as a stout with an off-white head cradling the mouth of the glass.

S: The aroma is syrupy sweet with a strong caramel presence. Almost, but not quite, too sweet.

T: Dark but inviting, this beer can overcome many of the misconceptions about dark beers. The flavor is sweet, syrupy with a dark undertone. The taste never goes too far, too dark or roasted. Hops don't matter much in the lager, allowing the malts to be the center of attention. The lagerbier is too sweet at times; it could stand to be a little dryer.

M: Sweet and inviting, the beer has a nice finish.

D: Another good beer from Bube's. It's not the best schwarzbier you'll ever find but you won't be disappointed.

I had a taste of this yesterday. It sure looks nice in the glass. I thought it was on the sweet side for a Black Lager. Slatetank's review above is still pretty close to what I experienced. I should likely get back there and have a full glass of it to be sure.

I had the chance to taste this on tap at Bube's in Mt. Joy.
Served cool in a standard pint.
A - A very deep brown w/ garnet highlights and a thin tan head.

S - A rich roasted aroma of chocolate malt and a generally sweet creamy smell.

M - Rich and creamy like it smells. Almost to rich, like a porter, but not that sweet. A very pleasant lager smoothness in the finish.

T - A sweet caramel malt taste kicks this off and goes directly into chocolate malt flavors. Very smooth and creamy w/ a light roasted taste and a pleasant finish.

D - This is a fine Scwharzbier - Nice and mellow w/ just a touch more roasted flavor and hop spice than I would prefer, but well made and clean.
