Great Crescent Coconut Porter is brewed as a traditional English Style Porter. Organic Coconut is added during the brewing process to give this beer a nutty flavor and a little touch of sweetness that blends perfectly with the style. A hop blend of English East Kent Goldings and Fuggle give this beer an authentic flavor.

16 oz. can with no freshness date: poured a very dark brown with ruby highlights when held up to light. The creamy, tan head lingers for a short while before dissipating and leaving some intricate lacing on the glass.
The weakest part of this porter: rather indistinct with some spiciness wafting through; just a hint of brown sugar in the aroma.
Now this is an easy-drinking porter. There is some roastiness and a hint of bitter chocolate, but no truly distinctive flavors are noticed. The coconut flavor lingers on the palate well after you have taken a sip.
The body is a little thin and I believe the carbonation is slightly too high. I does have a distinct flavor in the mouth - semi-sweet chocolate and faint coconut flavor.
I finished the pint rather quickly and enjoyed it from start to finish. Certainly not the most complex porter, it makes for a flavorful quaffer.

From the brewery via howler in my pint glass.
Dark brown color with a finger thick dense brown head that dissipates quickly.
Roasted malt and a hint of coconut aroma.
Taste has lots of dark chocolate and some coffee in the finish. Coconut is shining through just a little bit.
Medium body with light carbonation, feels a bit watery.
Overall, quite enjoyable. Would love to taste more of the coconut.

This one was a tough one for me to rate. It really isn't as bad as my rating leads on. At the same time it really doesn't have anything special about it either. I guess I could see myself enjoying the entire 4 pack. Just not sure I'd come back to it with my next purchase. Definitely worth trying.
