Has a little area in the middle where you can get some beers on tap which is nice b/c you can also pick a single bottle to have there or eat there. No knocks on the service at all, the food is Whole Foods food so it's not bad at all but it's pricey, and the vibe is what one expects when you're in the middle of a grocery story (subdued to say the least). They have TVs though so there's that if you want to catch a game or something. Selection itself is decent (the Total Wine in next shopping center is probably better) so I'd say it's worth checking out if you're in the area.

Minutes from the airport and also Cigar City brewery...this is the pretty typical WFM. Expect high quality meats, fish, veggies, cheese, cold and hot buffet bars, all things high end food and of course BEER. Selection here is better then decent, but really not overly outstanding...they do offer growler fills.you can satisfy all your food needs here and find plenty of worthy beer options.

Pretty nice hip grocery store. Their lunch’s smell great and they also have craft beer on tap. The bottle selection is the largest that I’ve seen a grocery store have!

I went in here for a look at the beer. I didn't get any, since I was rushed, but I probably should have since the selection was better than The Fresh Market and I wasn't sure if I'd be getting something from Total Wine since I was right there. Service was good, as someone was actually there and noticed me. He had some knowledge, too, and was helpful with the few questions I could (probably annoyingly) rush at him. There wasn't a whole of stuff I couldn't get in the Midwest but there was definitely a sixer's worth or two(again, should have while I was there). The way bigger bottles were arranged (Respect? Rarely heard of) was cool. Overall, this is a good place to grab some good stuff in Tampa.

Not as much beer as I was expecting, but they do have some beers I didn't see anywhere else. The prices were a touch on the high side compared to the Total Wine location next door. If you're going to visit total wine you might as well stop in here as well since it's basically in the same parking lot. This was the only store I saw that had Cigar City Zhukov (12.99+tax for 750ml)

It's a Whole Foods, so there's not much going on for atmosphere. Decent quantity of brews, expected more of a selection of Cigar City based on what I had read on here previously....only had 3-4 750s and Jai Alai/Maduro. Loved the setup of the larger bottles in the wine racks, really unique. A gentleman immediately asked if I needed help, but I didn't quiz him. Very friendly. Didn't walk out with anything because nothing jumped out at me, but the selection was good. If I'm ever at CCB again, I'll stop by. The Total Wine across the parking lot is worth checking out too.

Had to stop in after CCB and Total wine on my recent trip to Tampa.

Atm- Much like other Whole Foods, its well light and laid out well. Beer is all the way in the back in an alcove with some wire wine racks to hold the bigger bottles or rarer bottles per se.

Quality- A lot of great beers were in the store. Bruery, Chimay, CCB, Terrapin, Brooklyn and Sierra Nevada amongst others.

Service- The gentleman helping me didnt have a name tag on but was a very tall and big guy with a beard. Can't miss him. Knowledgeable, and informative.

Selection- Had a nice selection but some open holes since I believe it was stock day. Terrapin, Bruery, CCB were the standouts with them actually have Brooklyn Local 1&2 and Sorachi Ace as well. If I had more room in the suitcase they wouldve come back with me.

Food- I had some lunch and grabbed a nice light salad and some tabouli. Always good and fresh.

Value- Overall, a bit expenive but had some great beers to bring home.

Been here many times to pick up dinner when in town on business. First time reviewing. A bit hidden in the lot, park in the garage (it’s free). Beer is off to the right all the way in the back corner. Really nice selection and well laid out. Cold and warm beer options. Bombers, singles and six packs. Tons of Cigar City as you would expect as the brewery is right around the corner. They had Bolita, Good Gourd, Zhukov, Jai Alai, Maduro, Cubano, 110k etc. For some reason at times the bottles here are cheaper then the taproom. They have a great selection of other breweries as well like Terrapin, Bruery, Chimay, Schmaltz etc. Really solid. I spoke with Jason while here this time. Guy is very knowledgeable and I was asking if Pumking had hit yet. It had not but he expected it the same week. He then told me about a multiple bottle tasting of pumpkins he did recently and what he liked best to least. Really good guy.

Food as in most Whole Foods is damn good. Hot foods, salads, sandwiches etc. All very good and I have never had something I did not like. If your up for it walk around and sample to your hearts content, they have tons of free samples.

This is well worth a stop if you’re in the area. Cigar City, Total Wine and the location are all within walking distance of each other. Hit em all and have fun.

Tremendous selection, well organized by category of beer, i.e. stouts, Belgians, locals, imports. More space than the wine area. All of the latest local bombers, including some Cigar City not available at the brewery next store. Many singles, alhough national brands tended to be in their 4/6 packs. Good prices and easy to get to from the airport, walking distance from the reasonably priced Hilton Airport. Close also to a Total Wines. Many beers from the cooler or at room temperature, your choice and a plus. No service of course, so bring your shopping list.

Whole Foods in Tampa is located where the Walters offices used to be underneath a Target. The larger complex also houses a Total Wine, and is located very close to Cigar City Brewing. Be warned when you go -- traffic is often chaotic as people decide which part of the shopping spoke they are headed for.

In terms of total varieties, Whole Foods doesn't reach Total Wine. However, it makes up for it with a better overall selection, including sours and regional items.

What sets Whole Foods apart from the nearby competition is the staff, especially Chris and Melissa. They are real beer geeks, and are happy to spend an amazing amount of time discussing beer. On a recent visit, I came in with a trade list over 80+ wants. Chris and Melissa each grabbed a couple of pages and immediately grabbed any they had in stock, noted what would be coming in soon, told me what I could get from a store in Brandon, and even offered to find a way to get me almost anything on the list through other channels.

That service is what keeps me coming back...traffic be damned.

Whole Foods Market in Tampa has a serviceable selection of craft beers, considering that it's not a typical beer store. I was able to find a good amount of beers we don't have here in Fort Myers, including several Cigar City brews (from the brewery which is just around the corner) and Ballast Point Sculpin IPA which is not yet distributed here. If you're in the Tampa area, I would suggest a quick visit to Whole Foods Market. The prices are not too bad and the selection is good for a grocery store.

Located adjacent to a parking garage (no fee), and in the same mall as a Total Wines. This is among the smaller of the Whole Foods I've been to, but still it has a huge selection of wine and beer. The beers are in the rear right corner, about half of them in coolers. Probably several hundred to choose from, about the same selection as the Total Wines but slightly different prices depending on current sale items.

If you do stop here, you should definitely check out Total Wines as well, lots of singles available there. Also, this is only 2 blocks away from Cigar City, a no-brainer stop for any beer lover in Tampa.

Tucked away in a parking garage so if you are going to go visit, keep that in mind.

The beer selection here is downright amazing for a store like this. Loads of craft beer, a good selection of imports. They really do have something for everyone here. I grabbed a bottle of Cuvee Rene but was also considering a BA B.O.R.I.S. or Sherry Cask J.W. Lees.

A word of warning, the beer is next to the seafood department and it smelled like clam chowder and made my wife and I really hungry.

If you are checking out Cigar City it is worth it to come here as well.

This place is on the come-up, thanks to the efforts of the beer team of Chris, Mike and Mike. These guys are passionate about beer, fairly knowledgeable , and very helpful.

The store is situated directly across from Total Wine, and one block from the Cigar City Brewery, so they have their work cut out for them. But they rise to the challenge, consistently.

I have seen a number of extremely unusual brews, including various t' Smijse brews, tons of De Proef, the Swiss Dragon beer which is intended to be served hot, and many other rarities. The usual suspects are there as well, and usually at good or great prices.

I am so happy with this place that I'll let slide the fact that they recommended De Proef's embarassingly bland Zoetuur Flemish Ale; I still love these guys anyway! They sold me tons of Avery Fifteen and Sixteen for $4 a bottle. And they always break the Odd Notion out of the Magic Hat mixed 12er for me, so I don't have to buy a bunch of crap I don't want just to try the season's Odd Notion.

If you are in the vicinity, I recommend this place over Total Wine. Visiting both is a good idea if you've got the time or inclination.

Dropped in here as at the recommendation of the staff at Cigar City. It's actually only about ¼ mile from the brewery, so I just walked.
The beers are located in the back and they have quite a selection of bombers that will catch your eye right away. There are also plenty of 6-packs and 12-packs as well. Crafts and imports are both covered equally, with selections from the east coast to the Midwest, to a really solid selection of European imports. Obscure offerings are tucked in there as well.
While normally I couldn't care less about the service in a beer store, I'd definitely like to mention that the "beer guy" here, Chris is outstanding. I probably talked to him for 20 minutes and he had some great insights and recommendations. He definitely knows his stuff and I feel really confident that he'd give beer neophytes some excellent recommendations. He even pulled some special limited items out of the back for me that weren't yet on the shelves. Again, normally I don't need sales help, but it's really nice to be able to chat with someone who knows their stuff and can recommend selections that often CAN be a bit on the obscure side.
It's not going to beat a superstore in terms of price or selection, but their prices weren't bad and what they did carry was excellent across the board. I'd recommend hitting up Whole Foods in conjunction with Total Wine to cover all of your bases.

Just visited this on vacation specifically looking for CCB brews...all they had was Winter Warmer even though they are very close to the brewery. It's hard to know how to rate this. As a grocery store, Whole Foods is awesome and the beer selection compared to other grocery stores is very very good. But I think it best to compare it to any store selling beer...which results in the above average, but not great score. A nice selection from a range of breweries...definitely worth a visit if in the area.

Preferred Whole Foods over Total Wine by far, despite a much smaller selection. The service was great...though received from a beer distributor. He knew his stuff, pointed me in the right direction, and was willing to talk about the local beer scene. Was able to pick up some CCB and Saint Somewhere...both I could not find at Total Wine. Only CCB they had in was the Warmer Winter Winter Warmer. Prices were very reasonable...and if I lived in the area, would shop here pretty much weekly. Great selection of Northeast beers and West Coast beers, but nothing I couldn't find in NJ...except a few.

Great place...great service. Defnitely recommend the visit...

This place is located off of 275 and Dale Mabry (hwy 92). Never thought I would find this type of selection at a health nut place. Plenty of 22 oz r's everywhere you look. Think I ended up with 8. They carry all the local beer; CCB, Saint Somewhere, Dunedin. Prices are very reasonable. THEY WILL GIVE YOU A DISCOUNT if you buy six bottels or more 10% OFF. Picked up a Sierra Nevada Estate for $2.50. Also found some Rouge Captin Sig (deadliest catch) bottles. Great place good prices don't bring your ladies. Who'd have thought? Whole Foods as a beer stop in Florida. Mark is to be commended though, for those visiting Tampa, this is the place to stop for Cigar City Beers, but Mark has done a great job loading up on some other quality beers. He is also committed to offering great customer service. While I came specifically to buy CCB, I ended up leaving with a few other tasty, rare beers I was excited to encounter. Sounds like Mark is driven to make this in to even more of a beer destination, so I had spread some positive word of mouth here on BA. Great stop for your Florida breweries, great service, and buy in bulk for the discount. One stop and I am done with my Florida beer purchases.

I like to visit Whole Foods every time I drop by to visit the Cigar City guys. Their beer section is not huge but it is full of quality stuff. They have most of the best beers the market offers without taking up room with the crap.

They have really devoted space to Cigar City which I love. I have never stepped into the beer section without being asked if they could help me or suggest a beer. Chris or Mark are usually the ones to greet you. They are very much about service which is great.

Their beer prices are good and if you buy six beers you get a 10% discount. I even had them throw in a six bottle carrying bag on one visit.

Beyond the beer they have wonderful cheese and meats. I love stopping in for a few items. Just don't stay long or you will spend your "whole" paycheck as there is lots of tasty stuff.
