Poured from tap at home. Hazy with a nice golden orange color with nice head and lacing. Slight citrus/grapefruit smell. Taste is a bam of hops that leaves a slight bitter taste in the mouth for a couple of minutes after a swig. Hopheads will love this beer, it may be too bitter for others. Mouthfeel and drinkability are good if you love hoppy bitterness. One or two might be the limit here.

I really enjoyed this beer. It is probably one of the hoppiest, maybe not the most flavorful, IPA in the local area. I had also tried this from a growler a week or so before buying a keg (just to make sure I liked it) and got a much more distinct flavor profile from the growler. It was like you could almost taste each and every hop. Not sure why that was but it was. I was also happy with this beer because I had not had an Aviator beer in a while and had decided to give it another go. I frequented this brewery when it first opened and soon discovered that almost all the different beer styles had a very similar taste. Not sure if it was a certain yeast strain or sanitation or what, but there was very little difference in taste. I think now with there new location and new brewing tanks things have definitely changed for the better. I am looking forward to retrying other styles.

This is an alright IPA, but it was different than the ones I have been drinking lately. It had the hop presence there for sure, but it had something that was off putting to me which I will get to in a minute. But first...

Appearance: Nice golden straw color, lots of frothy head that never seemed to go away. It was served on tap and was extremely cold, which may have been some of the problem.

Smell: IPA, floral, sweet a little citrus fruit bouquet going on but not a real piney resinous smell going on. Kind of get a little of that off odor given from wheat beers.

Taste: The same type of flavors are going on but I couldn't figure out if they may have tried to add some wheat beer components to this or what, but I was definitely getting that rotten cabbage thing I get from wheat beers mixed into the hop bitterness, it was present maybe not powerful enough to turn me off, but there was something going on with it that reminded me of a wheat beer. I have not had a wheat beer I liked. It is my least favorite style of all. It seems to be a gateway, or "chick" beer style and I have never been a fan, If you have to add a slice of orange, just order a damn margarita or something out of the slushy alcohol machine. Anyway, this is my only downfall with this beer. Overall it was solid but i was offput by the wheat beer aroma and flavor I detected. Some may love it for that.

On tap at the brewery.
A- golden amber and light orange hue
S- Citrus and an overwhelming amount of floral hops, I'm assuming the Willamette on the dry-hop. Almost too floral for me, much like dryer sheets
T- Creamy and thick malt following by a pleasant hop bite. Spicy, piney hops and a small amount of tangerine and citrus fruit that lingers.
M- Slick and creamy. Hangs around the mouth and coats everything in it's present. Well carbonated and just enough bitterness without leaving your tongue numb.

Not my favorite IPA, not a big fan of Willamette hops or this combo. A good choice if it's the only IPA around though.

A: A dingy orange glow, a shade of brown hugs the hips.

S: Pine, Grape, mildewed floral.

T: Pine, a hint of grape as if you'd laid a grapevine in the bottom and are experiencing the final hints of flavor
,
M: Slick, a tad muddy, I prefer my IPA's crisp or deep bodied, this is stuck in the etheral realm of adequate.

I could session this with ease, but it's not something I would go ahem...Hog Wild over...

Pours golden with a white head that rises like a thuderhead. The foam slowly recedes leaving some nice lacing and small foam curds. The smell is floral, resiny hops, slightly sweet, not very strong, but pleasant. The taste is grapefruit, pine and somewhat bready. Bitter, but not too much, sweet in the middle, then bitter on the finish. Not too carbonated and a bit dry when it comes to mouthfeel. a tad thin perhaps. Overall, much bette than I had expected. A solid to satisfying IPA, not an All Star, but definately Big League. I'll revisit this one again.

Pours a cloudy amber with a frothy white head.

The smell is very earthy, floral and grassy. Definitely an east coast IPA.

The taste is also very earthy and bitter. It has an almost dirty smoky quality to it.

The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with medium carbonation.

I'm more of a fan of the west coast IPA's but this isn't bad just average. The earthy dirt flavors are just too pronounced to say it's better than average.

12oz can poured into a pint glass
A: Hazy pale brown color with a lingering two-finger head
S: Somewhat muted, some generic grassy/hop/malt notes
T: A nice hop presence backed by grassy/herbal/earthy tones, the malt is there but backstage
M: Medium bodied, a bit bitter
O: Definitely one I'd like to try again, it's got good hops but the other qualities are unique and add nice secondary characteristics so it's not all about the hops

A- Pours golden and clear with a slight haze, creamy and foamy white head with good retention after the pour

S- peppery and grassy hops, metallic, toasted bready malt, earthy tones

T- there's actually some sharp hop bitterness on the tongue up front, but not really picking up any distinct hop flavors. There's a mesh of grassy, herbal and maybe fruity. Malt takes a back seat but does come through with some bread and vienna flavors. Finish is dry and earthy

M- medium body with medium prickling carbonation, foamy mouthfeel leads to a smooth finish

O- a bit raw and rough around the edges, but a good dose of hops
