Served from tap into a Trappe Door tulip. Poured a golden yellow-orange with a two finger off-white head that subsided to a half finger amount slowly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, spice, earth, fruit, and earth hop. The flavor was of sweet malt, bread, dark fruit, earth, earth hop, and spice. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty decent brew. To my surprised I really kind of liked what I found in this one. To be honest, I didn’t really expect much. However on the flavor the dark fruit note was a really nice find that definitely helped to tie more of this brew together for me through each sip. It was quite easy to drink the entire glass. If there hadn’t been other ticks to move on to, I definitely would have had another glass.

Poured into a Duvel tulip. No freshness date.

A- Pours an orangeish dark amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a mostly full sheet of sheer surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves a jagged ring behind.

S- Semi-rich Belgian yeast aroma with notes of banana. Slightly soily.

T- The soily quality is even more apparent in the flavor. A bit sweet with more notes of banana and some spice. Kind of one-dimensional but certainly drinkable.

M- Crisp but with also a mildly milky texture. Medium carbonation and a body leaning toward the fuller side.

O- A serviceable saison that gets the job done even if it's not very complex.

Comes in can, I poured it in a tulip, and drank at room temperature. Poured with a two inch head. Which had a strange aroma of rotten milk . Good body, with mild carbonation. Bitter flavors, hints if bubble gum, and peppery . Drinkable but probably wouldn't buy again. It us a good interpretation of farm house saison, but missing some of the natural yeast qualities .

355ml can. Canned on 2015-03-24.

A: Clear amber. Poured with one fingers high of head.
S: Tangerine. Somewhat metallic. And coriander.
T: Grainy sweet. Coriander. Semi-dry. Low bitterness.
M: light bodied. Crispy.
O: Both the smells and the flavors are not balanced well. The metallic and grainy sweetness should not dominate.

Orangey amber color like an IPA. Modest foam in the Ommegang chalice doesn't last as long as some. Some stray lines of bubbles, but nicely carbonated in the mouth. A whiff of alcohol and marmalade.

This is quite a flavorful and refined Saison. Toasty malt with some sweetness, plus the robust tangy, yeasty flavors. Fruity but not sugary. Brewer says this is made with pilsner malt plus orange peel and coriander flavorings. IBUs are just 22 but there is plenty of bitterness from the yeast. The orange is fairly distinct but this tastes more like a sharper Hefeweizen than a Wit.

A pleasant light-bodied but flavorful example. Tangy with a bitterish and dry finish. From the 22 oz bottle bought at K'nB Wine Cellars in San Diego.
