I was actually quite impressed when I walked into the Wegman's beer section. You can get some really good variety packs (Lancaster and Troegs stood out to me). Make your own 6-packs with Troegs and Victory, among others. Plenty of 750ml bottles: Sierra Nevada 30th, Ommegang, Chimay, Stone, Rogue. No one to help you as it's just a normal grocery store checkout line. They also slapped a big PAID sticker on the side of some of my nicer bottles, not ideal for displaying purposes. Overall it was quite pleasant and I plan on returning.

Not a bad selection but i didn't like that the bombers are sitting right across from a hot food table so i was hesitant to buy any ipas from that section.

Visited a couple of times on a recent trip to PA. This place is absolutely great relative to what else is available in the city for buying less than a case of beer.

Selection was pretty decent including lots of locals as well as some offerings from Founders, Bell's, Sierra Nevada (including some non-regulars like Grand Cru & Estate Ale) and others. Also a fairly decent selection of Belgian beer as well as some refrigerated bombers which came in handy at the hotel.

I was particularly interested in some Founders stuff and was disappointed that Breakfast Stout was the only winter seasonal that they had. But the Founders lineup was pretty good - including FBS, Porter, Centennial IPA, Red's Rye, Dirty Bastard, Pale Ale and some Harvest Ale that was well past its prime!

I picked up some Founders Breakfast Stout, Founders Centennial & Sierra Nevada Stout.

Staff didn't know a thing about beer - just cashiers.

When I found out Wegmans had beer I figured to see a bunch of macros, Sierra Nevada Pale, and some Sam Adams, but I was pleasantly surprised as they always have a big variety of seasonal selections from local as well as national micros. They also have probably the best selection of Belgians I've seen in State College which is awesome. You can also make yr own six pack for about $11 dollars.

It's also worth noting that prices for 6 packs and bombers here is at least $1-$2 dollars less than anywhere else in town, which makes it worth the long drive up Atherton.

There's no service to speak of, but everything has always been well stocked so I haven't had to look around.

One thing to remember, don't bring anyone without an ID or who is under 21 with you to the counter as they won't sell you even a bomber if there's someone they can't prove is 21 with you. Even if you come back later that day the rather unpleasant cashier won't sell to you if you get unlucky like me.

Pretty nice selection of six-packs, bombers and 750ml. They have a few variety 12 packs available as well. You can get them cold or warm, and you can now drink them there with your choice of many different food offerings.

Prices seemed to be comparable to other PA beer stores. What you won't find is the top shelf beers. What you will find is a nice average collection of good quality drinkers. Like I said, the selection of locals is nice enough to warrant a visit.

Off the top of my head: Troegs, Appalachian, Rogue, Southampton, Chimay, Stone...

Impressed. Great prices which blow away all other six pack shops in town. Selection for a grocery store in PA is fantastic. Approximately 11 big Rogue bottles, alot of good PA micros, about 10 different Samuel Adams sixers, and some Belgians (for people that like that kind of stuff). There's not much to get excited about as far as the State College bar scene beer selection goes, this is about the only new exciting thing. The Deli's selection seems to be going down hill. Zeno's has an excellent selection, but is expensive and has to many beers I know nothing about(I feel lost and confused there, can't come up with a game plan).

The State College Wegman's has a nice selection of PA-brewed beers. They've got offerings from Penn Brewing, Weyerbacher, Victory, Troegs & Lancaster BC...to name a few. The first thing I bought from their selection was a variety pack of Penn beers (included Penn Pilsner, Penn Gold, Penn Dark and Penn Weizen).

They've got a pretty good selection of other beers as well...including a nice variety pack of Sam Admas beers.

Prices seemed reasonable to me.

If you go there, make sure you pay for your beer in the bar/cafe section of the store, as the cashiers at the front of the store will not check out beers.
