Stopped in here the first night I was in town and I have to admit I thought it was a pretty nice place.

Was in on a business trip so I was able to enjoy a nice steak, cooked perfect with fries. Waitor was efficent and courtesy.

Beers seemed to be very local focused with lots og highland, duckrabbit, foothill and I even saw a mother earth tap. Prices seemed a bit high, but I really think overall the place is excellent. Would have no issues in coming in here again any day. Really a fine meal and the beers were really pretty darn decent.

Finally got the opportunity to come here for lunch. First off, I love the look of this place! Great decor, nice brick walls, local photography all over the walls. Each booth and table even has their own little plasma screen to watch the news or ESPN or whatever. Very nice touch. We talked to one of the owners a bit, and he was very helpful and extremely nice. Same ownership as 6th and Vine just down the street a bit.

Food seemed to be pretty good. I got the Kobe hamburger with fries. Burger was excellent and the fries were really good. We also got a conch fritter thing for an appetizer. This was way too fried and bready. I couldn't tell what we were really eating. Their selection of food seems to be pretty decent. Not many chicken or steak options, but sandies, pizzas, wraps, salads and such. This may just be their lunch offerings, but it didn't look like it.

Beer selection is also pretty decent. I got the Foothills IPA, but I saw some from Brooklyn, Starr Hill, Victory, Red Oak, Duck Rabbit, etc. Pretty good, but it's mostly the same stuff that you can get around town.

I liked this place, and I'll be back for sure.

I was over in W-S last weekend and decided to stop here after we had a few beers at Foothills. The theme of this place is a urban one,it has a very modern streamlines decor, there was only a few patrons there as it was the middle of the afternoon and it was quiet. The bar is towards the back and is pretty long with 10 taps and a decent liquor selection showing. Not anything earth shattering on tap with Starr Hill Amber and Foothills Hoppyum being the main attractions wich isnt saying to much but it was better than mainstream. We ordered the calamari app. and it was better than expected,it was fried perfectly and the remolaude was good that came with it.Sometime we may have dinner here and I have to say it wasnt a bad experience and it wasnt overly pricey.

My fiance and I went here this past weekend and I was very excited about trying this new place out. When we arrived we were told it would be a 20-30 minute wait, even though there was seating available. After we waited for 20-30 minutes we were seated at a table I am positive was open when we arrived. The food was pretty good, nothing outstanding.

The beer menu I would say was above average for Winston-Salem. On draft they had: Boddingtons, St. Therese's Pale Ale, Red Oak, Peroni, Stella Artois, Breckenridge Vanilla Porter, Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat, Guiness, Star Hill Amber, Foothills Hoppyum IPA, Newcastle, and Hoegaarden. Beers on draft were $4.50 a pint, which I personally think is a little high for Winston, this isn't a major city like Charlotte. I also wonder why they have Peroni on tap. I think they could have done much better with their draft menu by having some more North Carolina microbrews. Their bottled beer menu was pretty good, but all I can remember was it included Chimay, Victory, and your standard imports.

Overall I would say there are better places in Winston-Salem to eat and that have a better beer menu. Maybe I am being a little harsh because I had such great expectations. However, I would recommend everyone in the area giving it a try.

I went back to NOMA last night and I enjoyed it. I had the fish and chips and they were wonderful. They also slightly diversified their tap list with Rogue Yellow Snow IPA and Bell's Porter. After the first visit I would not have recommended this establishment, but now I would and I hope to go back soon.

NOMA just opened up, and I think they are still working some things out. Like beer lists an staff education. Our waiter knew everything they had on tap, but they did not give him a bottle list, nor did they have one he could get for me. They've only been open since Tuesday, so I can easily cut them some slack.

Atmosphere: Billed as an Urban Bar & Grill. Which as best as I can figure means they took a sports bar, a wine bar, a beer bar, a restaurant and through them all together. Very nice look and feel. Upscale without pretension. Downstairs is the smoking bar, lounge, and seating. Upstairs there is another bar/lounge and seating but all non-smoking. Now I would have switch the two, but I don't run restaurants so what do I know. Very clean, very friendly, and very alive.

Quality: This is so, so. While they have beers like Foothills Hoppyium IPA, Star Hill Amber, and Highland St. Terese's Pale on draft; they also have Stella, Peroni, and Liene Summerwheat. For a place that wants to have different beers that nobody has they barely hit the target, at least with their drafts. Maybe their bottles are rarer, but I would be surprised. I think this may change. I hope this will change. We could use another GOOD beer bar in Winston.

Service: Service was great. There were a few issues, but again the guy had only worked there for about three days. Nothing major and nothing that doesn't happy when a restaurant is busy and has just opened.

Selection: Broad selection, a handful of style choices, but barely above average. Again, this may change once I see a bottle list.

Food: We ordered a bunch of apps to get a feel of everything. Ordered the Mac-n-Cheese for my son and it was great. The Kobe Beef sliders were cooked to perfection and fantastic. The Fried Ravioli was also great. The baked oysters Casino were also very good, but only after we squeezed lemon on them. Without the lemon, they clearly were lacking. Then it took a turn down bland street. Both the stuffed jalapeno poppers and the calamari lacked flavor, were servers without any sauces, an aioli, or anything to dip them in. They also needed salt and there was none on any of the tables.

Very reasonably priced; we had six appetizers, a glass of wine, a glass of OJ, and two beers for $54. Not bad.

Hopefully they will iron out all the kinks and improve the beer list. It is a nice addition, but it could be so much nicer with just a few changes.
