12 oz bottle poured into an MKE tulip.

A - Ruby highlights shine through the clear vibrant amber brew, topped with a loose light ivory head that lasts quite some time before leaving sheets of lace on the glass.

S - The fruity and voluptuous aroma of blueberries explodes from Weekend At Louie's with a perfumy, aromatic power. It's hard to nail a "real" blueberry nose though; this one is a mix between a blue raspberry slushy and real, freshly washed blueberries sprinkled with sugar. Either way, I dig it! Undertones of toasted amber malt pull through with a hint of earthy hops and herbal tea.

T - If you're not a fan of fruit beer and are put off by the aroma, don't be scared to take a sip; Weekend At Louie's is much more beer-like in flavor than aroma. Full bready Munich malts are accented by plenty earthy European hops for a nice base beer for blueberries to interact with. The fruit shies away from the artificial aroma profile for a more real berry flavor; it's like a fruity unsweetened iced tea.

M - Crisp and clean with a dry finish, the feel of Weekend At Louie's is more reminiscent of a lager than an ale, as it goes down smooth and refreshing, blowing a kiss of blueberry flavor back at you on the finish.

O - Weekend At Louie's is a nice take on Milwaukee's staple beer, tossing in some tea and blueberry rooibos from Rishi for a fantastic, inviting nose that doesn't quite carry over into the flavor with full force. A great summer beer regardless, its a "fruit" beer that sticks to it's base of malt and hops while bringing something else to the table. Again, it feels like an unsweetened iced tea with fruity aspects.

Served in a Lagunitas mason jar.

Bernie's brother, suffering a similar fate? Damn uncreative Hollywood types... Anyway, this stuff pours a clear russet-amber topped by over a finger of cream-white foam. The nose comprises mild blueberry buffeted by an irked sea of mild caramel. The taste brings out the worst in the blueberry, which is now cardboard-y, old, and peel-y. The biscuit in the background can't even keep up, fading into obscurity before it has an opportunity to think about asserting itself. The result is just sadness for my tongue. The body is a light-leaning medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a dry finish. Overall, this beer is just a mess. Straight up.
