Chilled 375ml bottle poured into a flute glass.
Pours out as a brilliant, yet slightly clouded, raspberry red with a pinkish effervescent head.
Aroma is dominated by pulverized berry fruits and a floral bouquet of various sweetened elements. Shows many of the same aromatic features one may come across when presented with berry or black currant juice.
Taste is very tart with sour elements. Raspberry obviously features heavily but mild elements of other berry fruits are available. Very little alcohol present which correlates with the relatively low ABV.
Mouthfeel is very lively with a champagne like level of carbonation. Starts sour and finishes with a smooth syrup sensation.
This really needs to be analyzed in the context of Lambic beers and as far as lambics go this is a very good one. If the features of Lambics do not appeal to you then this is likely to offend as its almost as textbook version.
