355 ml bottle poured into a Duvel tulip.

A: Pours a ruby red with half a finger of cream soda head; poor retention but leaves some lacing.

S: Smells like fresh, tart cherries; I can also detect an underlying sugary scent.

T: Nice sour cherry flavour; not as sweet as I'd feared.

M: Mouthfeel is fairly light with crisp carbonation.

D: I'd say the drinkability is pretty high.

Poured into a tulip glass from a 750ml bottle.

A - Pours a nice copper hinted red color with a nice 0.5 inch head that is rose colored.

S - Strong black cherry aroma . Sweetness and some slight flowery notes. There is some slight cherry tartness.

T & M - Flavor starts off with some sweet cherry notes that also contribute some tart notes to it. Pretty straight forward notes of sweet cherries with some slight tartness. There are some slight chalky yeast notes present as well. There are also some nice woody notes but this is mostly a cherry flavored beer plain and simple. Its still good and delicious for the summer. Very well carbonated with some medium-light notes.

O - Very good Lambic. Quite delicious summer brew with some nice sweet hints and some mild tartness. Good brew but Framboise is definitely still a better one for me.

Blood red colour, light pink head, one finger with spots of lace. Smell is big with cherry, lightly funky, yeast comes through with sweet candy notes, fairly pleasant. Taste is all cherry followed by sweet candy, sugar, tart and lightly sour in the finish, some yeast is among the cherry. Fairly high carbonation, med body, syrupy and fairly decent feel. Not bad, a little too sweet so one is plenty but still quite enjoyable for a sweet lambic.

355 mL bottle from the LCBO, listed at 3.5%. Love the cap+cork system, really ads to the experience for me.

Pours a ruby-magenta colour. Slightly hazy with a small amount of floating sediment. Light pink head gets retained as a small collar with a thin film. Moderate lacing.

Smells like black cherry and fresh wheat. Slight muffin-like character; like sweetened oats.

Tastes like cherry juice. A deep tartness is accented by a mild, sweet malty flavour. A slight chocolate flavour comes through in the aftertaste.

Very carbonated, like soda on the tongue. Goes bitter, but with a syrupy sweetness in the finish. Balanced, tasty and easy to drink.

Supremely drinkable and a lovely treat, even at $6 a pop I'd have this as or with desert quite often if it was available in my area.

Pours a dark pink with a big light pink head, lacing left on glass. The smell is reminiscent of Robitussin or cherry cough drops with a yeast after-smell. Strong sweet cherry flavor with puckering tartness. Carbonation keeps it from all being too much.

Pours a dark pink colour with huge light pink head. Smells of cherries, almost like black cherry soda. Flavour is quite sweet, almost a little bit tart as an aftertaste. Really big carbonation level. This drinks more like a cherry soda than anything, but it is still nice. I do like the cherry flavour.

look: 3.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

Pours a dark purple, with a thin, cloudy, pinkish head.

Smell is strongly of sugar and cherry. Smells like a cherry cola, or a cream soda. The sweetness is rather overpowering. A rather medicinal smell overall.

Taste is just like the smell. Sugar, cherry soda or cherry medicine. It does have some tartness which is rather nice, and is probably the aspect I like most of the beer. The sweetness really makes it hard to drink too much of this beer, and the cherry flavour comes across as somewhat artificial, which I find with a lot of fruit flavoured beers.

The beer feels like juice. The low alcohol level, sugar and fruit really make it feel like juice. Leaves a coating in the mouth that is not terribly pleasant. Low carbonation, medium bodied.

Overall, this beer is not really my style, but I can see how it could be loved by others. It really is what it says- black cherry. I bet there are many that would love it, but I am not one of them.

Great intensity to its rosy pink colour. The appearance is hazy and turbid. The pour forms a thin pale pink head that recedes quickly and leaves little spots of lace. Powerful black cherry aroma, like black cherry soda but less artificial. The cherry aroma here has depth and comes across as very natural. Big cherry flavour on the palate with a fruit juice sweetness and mild tartness. On the balance, this fruit lambic is more sweet than sour. My guess is that the base beer was blended with the cherry juice mentioned in the ingredients list, and that the sweetness comes from the cherry juice itself. It's light-bodied, with the sugars giving it a slightly sticky mouthfeel. On the whole, this is a pretty simple fruit-bomb, but the fruit flavour is very rich and natural. Definately worth checking out if you like your fruit beers to really taste like fruit and little else.

Pours red with a foamy pink head that disappears. No lacing, good bubbles rising.

Smells like cherry soda, but with a real cherry juice element. Smells sweet.

I like the fact that you get sweet cherry juice that goes tart on you as your palate clears. Some dry malt notes, but some soda-water elements as well. The sugar is fake, and the beer is over sweet. Still, you find yourself drinking more of it. A light, seed-like bitterness at the end.

Lighter-bodied, but mouth coating.

Ok overall. The sweetness changes enough to tolerate. Many others out there that are better, but this one is the easiest to find. A starter for newcomers to the style. Great with dark chocolate.

A: Poured cranberry color with a 3 finger pink head. Loads of carbonation. Looks great. Fluffy head.

S: Black Cherry Soda.

T: OMFG. Sour, sweet, cherries, delicious. I love this sweet ass beer.

M: Smooth, rich with mild carbonation.

O: Love this as a dessert beer. Wow. So love Cherry Lambics. Deliciously sweet with a mellow sour aftertaste. Would definately buy a ton more.

Poured from a 750ml bottle into two oversized frosted wine glasses. No freshness/bottled date on the bottle or any abv % marker. Strange!

Pours a deep thick cranberry juice color with a light lavender prickly carbonated head about 1/2 finger deep. The head stays for only 30 seconds or so. Carbonation actively rises.

Smells pretty good, but expected aroma. No real depth here - it is what it is. Nose of black cherry/blackberry/tart/sour/malt sweetness.

Taste is fruity black cherry & blackberry up front - sweet. The back end of this is where the sour hits you - a jaw clenching sour upon the first few sips. Obviously, as a fruit beer the sweetness is just all over, up front & in back as it accumulated on the back of my tongue.

Moderately light & well carbonated. Just what I like to experience in my fruit beers.

Purchased at World Market for $9.99 + tax & split between myself and my girlfriend. Rather expensive for such a low abv & average (in my opinion) fruit brew. Won't be picking this up again - however I will try their Peche for the same price.

Overall, this was just above average for me - certainly nothing to boast over.

(Served in a fluted strange)

A- This beer pours a slightly dense crystal clear glowing deep red body with a microfizz that races toward the surface. There is a ping foam head that last for most of the beer.

S- The sharp smell of Luden's cherry cough drops finish with a medicinal bite the grows as the beer opens.

T- The dark sweet cherry flavor is very artificial tasting with a chemical cough syrup taste to follow and a dark medicinal tonic bitterness in the finish.

M- The medium mouthfeel has no astringency or alcohol heat and a soft tight fizz in the finish.

O- This beer has a syrupy cherry taste that is not fresh fruit at all but just all artificial. I haven't had Luden's cough drops since I was a kid but one sip of this beer and I fell like I was sick in bed. I couldn't find any other characters in this beer.

Poured from a 750ml bottle into a Lindeman's Fluted/Pilsner Glass. I've tried the apple and Framboise before (both a good but a little too sweet for me). so I'm looking forward to trying this one, hopping for a more tart taste.

I poured a little too aggressive and got a very bubbly large head, the head is a pink color has long retention (5 minutes later and still highly bubbly) and a nice lacing as it goes away. The color is a crannberry/cherry red.

The smell is a sweet cherry fruity smell (I'm expecting a sweet drink now).

Mouthfeel is not bad, sweet/tart hints, bubbly carbonation velvety consistency.

The taste is obviously of cherries, its a little too sweet, I couldn't drink the whole bottle at once. There is some tartness on the way down but not as much as I hoped for.

Overall this is a decent dessert brew, I'd have to split a bottle with a few people though because of the sweetness, truthfully, I'd rather drink a cream stout for dessert. Hopefully the next cherry beer I find is more tart/sour.

tastes like sweet cherry flavored cough syrup with a mix of cherry flavored smirnoff's ice. very sweet.

Poured from a bottle into a snifter-ish glass.

Look - dark ruby red when held up to the light with about 2 fingers worth of pink-colored foam that dissipates somewhat slowly.

Smell - very fruity and syrupy in the smell. Almost smells like a bubble-gum cream soda.

Taste and Mouthfeel - fairly tart and strong on the sides of the palate. Very sweet, and the black cherries are fairly noticeable. Texture seems to be a little on the thicker, creamier side when held in the mouth, but when swished around it's fairly well-balanced.

Overall - not a bad brew, but maybe a little too sweet for my tastes. Still good though.

Poured into a beer glass

Good clarity considering bottle conditioned and still a little yeast at the bottom of the bottle. The cork practically flew out of the bottle, and when I poured it poured a nice head with considerable lacing. Quite carbonated with tiny bubbles.

Smelt excellent immediately out of the bottle! Cherries! Sour Cherries (the yeast obviously contributing to that)

Delicious! Not for everyone, but strong cherry, mild sour that may pucker you up on the first sip or two.

Big body! I was surprised, but it seemed dense in my mouth, and felt substantial

Reccommended! Bought for $7 at a local importer for 335ml
Thats probably expensive for you yanks out there, but in the great white north, thats well worth the investment!

forst 25cl bottle only 3.5 ABV and two months over date (which i dare risk with lambic style beers)

A: Hazy, dark red colour, almost no head (not that strange for a lambic)

S: Cherries a bit sweet but still real cherries, some tartiness

T: Way sweeter than I expected, tastes more artificial then it smells, not doing it for me

M: It could do with a bit more gas, a bit too sticky

O: It's a no for me, i like my cherrie beers sour, i knew this was more on the sweet side, but it is really at the end of the spectre. Not my thing

A: Pours a fruit punch red with a reddish-pink head. Leaves almost no lacing

S: Sweet cherries dominate, along with some yeast. No brainer here

T: Again, cherries of course. Fairly tart, but sweet as well. Fairly simple, as fruit beers should be

M: Light bodied with high carbonation. Like cherry soda, for the most part

D/O: Well, easily drinkable at only 4%. A good example of the fruit beer style, which is not surprising coming from Lindemans

It was poured from a green capped and corked 355ml bottle into a Lindemans fluted glass. The label has a description of the beer but there is no freshness date or abv%.

Appearance: It has a cute light pink foam head sitting on top of a dark red and very effervescent liquid. This well carbonated beer has a very slight hazy and a few small yeast particles floating around inside it. As for that pick head, it holds on very well and makes lots of nice pink lacing on the glass.

Smell: The aroma is very fruity in both a sweet and tart way. It’s like a cross between Nerds candy, cherry suckers, currants and raspberry.

Taste/Palate: It starts with a flash of sweet cherry candy then moves on to notes of tart currants, tart raspberries and something like a strawberry fruit roll-up. Under this I get some mildly sour yeast notes and a very slight almond note. It finishes slowly with mild berry and yeast tartness sticking to the palate. The body feels light to medium and just a bit sticky even with a very active and lively carbonation.

Notes: Overall I enjoyed the sweet/tart mix of flavor as well as its pretty appearance.

A: The pour is a deep ruby red with a short lived pink head, about a finger high.

S: Sweet cherry candy on the nose with a little bit of a cherry cough drop sort of flavor. Not the menthol kind, but more of the sweet Ludens sort of cough drop.

T: The flavor is sweet, too. Tons of cherry flavor, which is nice, but after awhile it becomes far too sweet. A bit of the cherry cough drop flavor to it and lots of sugar/candy sort of flavor.

M: Medium in body with a low to medium carbonation.

O: Sort of a guilty pleasure, but at the same time, it's a bit too sweet to drink a ton of.

A: 0brownish purple coloration with thin violet tinted white head. Nice looking.

S: Primarily cherries.

T:Taste follows the nose, Cherries with a light tartness. Slightly sweet finish.

M: Moderate body with a light carbonation.

O: Not much sour/tart but has a decent taste that finishes slightly sweet without any off flavors. Not a complex beer but would one that would be refreshing on a hot day.

Bubbly dark cherry pour with a lovely whitish/red head. Delicious sour cherry notes dominate the aroma and flavor. Mouth feel is bubbly and refreshing. The sour cherry flavor is unique and why you will either love it or hate it, I suppose. Don't expect a lot of sweetness here.

Deep red with pinkish edges and foamy reddish white head that fades fast. Intoxicating aroma of cherry, sour notes, candy, bubblegum, and fruit acidity. Tastes of cherries, sour notes, bubblegum, tropical fruit juice, acidity, and a slight dryness towards the finish. The fruit and sour hit hard toward the center of the drink but disappears and doesn't cling to the tongue. Medium bodied with medium-high carbonation. A refreshing beauty of a beer. Wild fermentation and cherries go perfectly together on a sunny day.

Pleasant middle of the road kriek: if you don't like the extreme sour, but don't want the shame of sticky sweet either, this is a good introduction to the style.

Pink head on a dark (brown) red beer.
Smell and taste of ripe cherries. Full fruity. Good balance between sour and sweet.
The maturation in wood is noticable too: wood, vanilla, nuttmeg, cinnamon.

Smooth and pleasant. Low alcohol and high carbonation makes this a very refreshing drink.

Served at World of Beer - Corked bottle, poured into a flute glass.

When poured, this beer is a very deep colored red, slighty cloudy with a 2 finger pink head and very nice lacing.

The nose is amazing! Strong hints of black cherries, with little hints of vanilla.

As on the palate, again, just a very strong taste of cherries, with slight hints of vanilla at the finish. Lots of carbination! It did not taste sour at all...

Overall, I could drink this all day long. With little ABV, this beer goes down very well! I couldn't get over how well it tasted! I would highly recommend this beer to those who love fruity beers with lots of carbination.
