look: 4.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4

Appearance: Pours a bright ruby red color. Head is dark pink and billowy and takes several minutes to dissipate.

Smell: Tart cherries through and through.

Taste: Cherries, sweet and tart. Maybe slightly more tart than sweet, but not by much. Both elements are largely present. This is almost like drinking cherry juice with yeast in it. Quite one dimensional. No alcohol taste whatsoever.

Mouthfeel: Lots of carbonation plus the tartness give it a pleasant little sting.

Drinkability: So sweet and tart that it's best suited as a dessert beer shared among friends.

Notes: Another nice fruit lambic offering from Lindemans. Not nearly as sweet as Lindeman's peche, and not as wine-like or lambic-like as their cassis. It's not a lot like a traditional lambic, and it doesn't taste much like beer. But it's a delicious fruit-flavored beverage, nonetheless. I will undoubtedly drink this again as a special treat!

A- Poured into a snifter... a 1/4"- 1/2" light pink colored head sits on top of a burgundy colored beer. Light activity, leaves very little lacing

S- Very strong cherry tart aroma

T- Follows right in line with the smell. Very sweet start and finishes with a pronounced tart bite

M- Very watery with light carbonation

D- Like drinking juice. Goes down extremely easy. Might start to get too sweet after 1 or 2, but very tasty to start. Probably great during the summer... I prefer this to the Pomme

Poured from 37,5 cl bottle (by the way, ABV 3,5) this beer presents deep ruby-red body, slightly bleary. Amidst ingredients aroma and fructose - not very good, I suppose. Pink head with even bibbles is rather long-playing. On the bottom awaits sediment, be aware, it may break appearance and impression, if it gets into froth. Fresh & light sour cherry perfume with lambic tones is in harmony with bracing drinkability and half-dry aftertaste. Mouth remains refreshed with sour-sweet aftertones.
So, I like it and recommend it as an example of good classic kriek

335 ml bottle. A very pretty purplish red. Impressive head, retention and lacing. Smell like cherries sweet and tart, light lambic sourness. Taste is pretty sweet with a tart and vinous component balancing it. Dry finish gives a very nice puckering to the feel which is quite refreshing. Still there is a light syrup texture though the carbonation does a nice job breaking it up. Pretty easy drinking just a touch thick for quaffing. Would be easy to have several with a meal.

look: 4.5 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4.5

Poured from 750 ml bottle.

A: Gorgeous dark red color, the color of document seal wax, with a small bit of magenta head.

S: Sweet fruity bouquet with an extremely strong cherry smell and a cherry filling/frosting-like creaminess (a la cherry cream chocolates) hovering in the background.

T: Plentiful amount of cherries hit upfront and deluge the mouth with sweetness. A slightly bitter hop taste hits in the middle followed by a pleasant tartness and acidity. A cherry-flavored creaminess rounds out the finish.

M: The initial tartness causes the lips to pucker, but then the sweetness shines through, turning the mouthfeel from juicy to somewhat creamy.

D: This is absolutely excellent. Though I didn't enjoy Kriek the first time I had it in Belgium, I think it's an acquired taste and gets better every time.

look: 3.5 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3

Appearance: Poured an extremely deep ruby red that is almost completely opaque until held to the light. Resting atop that is a one finger pink head that diminishes to just a cap about halfway through.

Smell: Nothing but fresh cherries. It smells exactly like a glass of fresh cherry juice. A great smell if a little one-sided.

Taste: Deliciously tart, lip smacking black cherry. Again completely one dimensional but still quite tasty. I've had my fair share of beer brewed with cherries and this is easily the best. Most are fairly medicinal. This tastes like carbonated cherry juice.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Very smooth.

Drinkability: This is just too sweet for me to have more than a glass or two. It works nicely as a dessert beer, but not much else. I bet it would pair swimmingly with a fresh baked cherry pie.

Overall I'm aware this isn't a true lambic, but I think it works on it's own level. I'll probably keep a bottle around for when the mood strikes. It's definitely a nice change of pace.

look: 3.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Appearance: A nice light garnet coloring with a light purple head. The beer has a bit of a haze to it, but not remarkably so. The head had near zero retention, and was near gone within a few minutes.

Aroma: Malt with a nice foundation of cherries beneath it. Not overwhelming at all. In fact, a little weak on the aroma.

Taste: Sweet, sweet, and more sweet before the taste of cherries actually comes through. Any taste of hops or malt is purely coincidental as this comes across more like cherry soda than cherry ale.

Mouthfeel: Moderate carbonation, but it doesn't provide a strong zip as some beers can. This is a feature and not a bug with lambics, as the characteristics of the fruits should be allowed to come through.

Drinkability: There's not a technical fault with this beer, but perhaps a philosophical one. The sweetness in this beer is overwhelming, but seemingly quite intentional. My preference is for lambics to have at least some hint of beer in the background, but Lindeman's approach does not agree with mine. It's highly drinkable, yes, but is it a good example of a lambic? I'm not so sure. I'll split the difference and give it a "B".

Admittedly, this is only the second Lambic I've ever tried (the first being Sam Adams cranberry). Still, I wasn't expecting exactly what I got. The appearance, nose, and taste of this reminded me of an energy drink, except without the disgusting chemical taste. There was almost no smell or taste of alcohol, only fizzy fruitiness. Went down very smooth. Overall, I think the fruit taste was maybe a little overpowering. Very good, but not what I'd drink if I were in the mood for beer.

Appearance: Dark red color with a pink bubble head.

Smell: Only sweet cherry smell, I love it~

Taste: Sweet cherry taste like the smell. A little bit sour, like champagne. Not too sweet.

Mouthfeel/drink: Light bodied with high carbonation. Smooth to drink.

Bottle poured into wine glass. Deep clear candy-apple red with a light-pink head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is black cherry yogurt, mostly sweet and no trace of sourness. Flavor is sweet ripe cherries up front which fade into a tart finish that digs at the corners of the jaw. Again, no sourness, but a very strong tartness that provides a mild semblance of balance. Still overly sugary and not all that easy to drink. Mouthfeel is similar to wine cooler.

A- Deep red and purple tones with a solid inch of lavender head.

S- Cherries and yeast are the prevailing smells.

T- Slight tartness that grabs at the corners of your mouth. Nice residual cherry taste with sweetness to round out the flavor.

M- Clean and smooth bordering on the dry side.

D- Great to sip on with a low ABV lets this drink go a long way. Even makes great Popsicles.

12 oz. bottle into small wine glass

Apearance= Pours like a red wine. Active carbonation 1 finger super white head, quickly dissipates into a ring of lace around the edge. Opaque body, minimal lacing on glass.

Smell= Cherries, funk, sweetness

Taste= Sweet and tart cherry flavor. Good taste.

Mouthfeel= Good mouthfeel thin-medium.

Drinkability= If it was a little more tart and less sweet I'd drink it all day long. As it is, it's good. Sipper though.

Out of a 750ml corked and capped bottle. Pours a dark red/purple color with a nice tight whipped pink head that left plenty of lacing on the glass. The aroma is sweet and tart. Big Hi-C fruit punch aroma with a tart unrippened cherry, some peppery spice as well. The taste is of fruit punch and red grape juice with an overlying cherry syrup sweetness. Some metallic notes as well. Similar to the framboise but the cherries don't bring in too much of a tart flavor like the raspberries do. The feel is moderate with soft carbonation, very sweet but the tart bite offsets the sweetness to avoid being cloying. Very tasty brew, very sweet, one glass is enough for me.

Hazy dark pink/blood orange with a very frothy pink head the texture of fresh whipped cream.

Aroma is very strong of marachino cherries with some bready aromas in the background. Candy-like sourness present as well.

Taste is dominated by the fruit, like an apple based cider with lots of cherries in it, but finishes slightly dry with the taste and texture coming from the malt. Sticky sour flavor on the tongue but sweet everywhere else in the mouth. Acidic tartness is mostly due to the fruit used, but there is also some complexity similar to in a Flanders Red behind the fruit, but not overwhelming or enough to distract you from the flavors of the fruit.

Mouthfeel is very light bodied, very fluffy sort of feel. I enjoyed drinking a 12 oz bottle of this but I couldn't see myself drinking a whole lineup of lambics.

I believe this is the first lambic I've reviewed or at least the only one I can remember right now. Definitely a new twist on beer for me.

Poured from a corked and caged bottle into a goblet :

A - Cherry red colour with a fruity pink, bubbly head.

S - Tart smell of berries and candy

T - Tart cherry cola flavour

M - Bubbly, tart, twangy, zesty, sweet

D - Good beer to tantalize your palate, to work up an appetite, a good choice with hors d'oeuvres, and certainly recommended for the ladies. The wife loved it.

Poured from a bottle into a stange.

Definitely does not look like a beer, more like a berry punch, really. Color is a burnt maroon shade, pretty hazy with a decent head that leaves quite a bit of lacing. The smell is also very un-beerlike as well, again, more like a cherry/berry punch, quite sweet. After a few more concentrated sniffs, there's a little hint of tartness along with some malt nuances. Still very much under the sweet cherry fragrance. I kinda like it.

More tangy cherry sweetness in the taste, as expected. It's not cloyingly sweet and is nicely balanced with a slight bit of tartness. Bit more sour than most beers, but not very sour at all in the grand scheme of things. I didn't expect hoppiness and I didn't get any, as it's not present at all. There's a slightly bready finish at the end which surprised me. Malts are only very slightly detectable on the back end as well, not too evident at all. Mouthfeel is decent, not watery, but not too much body either. Carbonation is present throughout, almost distractingly so.

Thanks to the sweetness and low alcohol content, this brew is quite drinkable. It may not be for the purist beer drinker, but for people like me who appreciate the less bitter varieties, it's a nice, refreshing thirst quencher.

An interesting beverage...

Comes in an interesting bottle, capped AND corked. Pours a hazy red with a pink head.

Smells of cherries, little else. Still, very appealing. Not at all like other cherry beers that come off like cough syrup.

Taste is like soda. Sweet, cherry soda. Very sweet, with a fair bit of acidic tanginess. Like cherry soda. Not really my thing, and really rather lacking in complexity.

Mouthfeel is about the same. It's rather light-bodied, and light-ish carbonation - but the tangy acidity makes it 'brighter' than you might expect.

Drinkability? Sure, like cherry soda.

Poured in to my GF's Lindemans Pokal.

A - Pours a very translucent blood red with hints of copper. Half inch washed pink head that leaves moderate lacing. I can see some yeasties floating around in my glass.

S - Tis reminiscent of childrens' cough syrup and/or cherry soda.

T - Very tart dark cherry taste.

M - a bit harsh on the carbonation.

D - This is a really good ale. However, I don't see myself drinking this thing the whole night.

I have had this a few times in the US. I bought this bottle at Asda (Walmart in the UK) and it had a different label and was only 3.5% alcohol. So I am not sure what the deal with this is but there was nothing else on the label to make me think it is a different beer as I have nothing else to compare it to.

A - Deep cherry red with a pretty pink head that left a really nice lacing.

S -Sweet smell of Maraschino Cherries, a bit artificial.

T - Slightly sour Ludens cherry cough drops. I loved these as a kid, but if I want candy I'll buy candy. Also I could deal with an overly sweet cherry beer, but overly sweet artificial cherry flavoring is not what I am looking for.

M&D - Not overly carbonated compared to most lambics. Went down well. Way too sweet for me to drink more than one.

I actually used the rest of this to blend with a stout that I thought was a bit bland and the two went well together.

330ml bottle into straight glass.

One of the few beers that my partner likes that I do too. The cherry smell is pungent and delectable. Lovely foamy head and delicate lacing. Most refreshing on a summer's day, but one is enough for me before moving on to proper beer.

I tasted (1/3 pint) a couple of better krieks at the GBBF, but sadly, I've forgotten their names.

Had this on a recent trip to Belgium- I found this to be an interesting beer. Quite striking in color (red with pink foam) with a smell of sweet cherries (non-beer like). Its rather velvety in the mouthful and was refreshing on that hot day. My wife (non-beer drinker) really enjoyed this beer; while I found it to be a bit too sweet to have more than one or two bottles. While this beer would not be my favorite beer while visiting Belgium, it could easily become a summer favorite in rotation with Blue Moon or Hoegaarden.

Had this with the girlfriend and some friends the other night; I've learned to have lambics on hand when the girlfriend is present during drinking nights, and due to its sparklingly-low ABV, low hoppiness and bitterness, makes for a perfect girlfriend brew.

Appearance: Pinkish-red, rosy hue with some nice pinkish-white lacing and head. Looks like a cherry 7up.

Smell: Intense cherry smell bites immediately, and really that's the extent of the big flavors. But man, cherries galore. Slight vino style hints, but not in the alcoholic sense. Sure, you can knock it for complexity, but there's no denying the power of the cherry here.

Taste: Whew, that is some sweet cherry, with almost a puckering effect as well. The dark, black cherry style reminded me heavily of the old grocery-store black cherry colas of old that you could get for a quarter a can and I often did. Not very complex, but incredibly gut-punching sweet and cherry flavors that really make a dent in the palate in a totally-un-beer like way.

Mouthfeel: Slightly puckering, but mainly sweet. Carbonated amply and appropriately. Again, reminded me greatly of a cherry soda.

Drinkability: Well, it's too sweet to drink too much of, that's for sure, but I'll definitely keep this, the Peche, and the Framboise around for the girlfriend when she comes over. I really hope to break her in to guezes or sours someday, but please don't let her know, it'd ruin the fun. This is completely out-of-left-field and very un-beer like, but in a kind of refreshing way. Worth a shot.

Poured out of a 12 oz. bottle into a Blue Point Snifter

A: Deep red with a creamy 1.5 finger pink head. Lacing for a lambic was incredible with layers sticking to the glass.

S: Simple yet a very crisp cherry flavor that ends with a barely detectable hint of alcohol.

T: Smells like it tastes. Like cherry juice and very crisp but neither overwhelmingly sweet nor underwhelmingly watery. Balanced and a little dry at the finish.

M: Slightly coarse with a bit of carbonation but with an oddly creamy mouthfeel.

D: Quite enjoyable. This is one of the better lambics I've had and might make me partial to the kriek flavor.
