750 ml bottle shared with my girlfriend and family. Poured into a tulip.

A: Deep red/maroon body with a huge fluffy, creamy soft pink head. The lacing and retention were both stellar, leaving this patches on both the walls and a nice cap on the surface. Sure, it's red and pink but for the style it's great.

S: Sweet and sugary black cherries, strawberries and red grapes. Along with the sweetness is a nice subtle tart nature but you can tell it won't be so puckering. A semi-sweet red wine quality comes through towards the back end, nothing really in the way of an abundance of malt or hops though. The fruit dominates.

T: Very sweet but not sickeningly. Black and red cherries are the center of this flavor profile. There's a bit of a tart edge due to the underlying lambic base of this beer though it's certainly been masked quite a bit with the sweetener. Not that I mind it, but in large quantities this might be too much. The finish is dry and fruity, really just an easy drinking exceptional beer.

M: Light and bubbly, highly carbonated but there's nothing to fault here as this is what the style calls for. Dry and sweet flavors lingering around.

Perhaps this is a guilty pleasure but I enjoy a beer like this from Lindemans from time to time. It's a nice change of pace while still giving you traditional lambic qualities with a sweetened edge to it. Not something I could drink in large amounts but this always seems to go over well with everyone.

This poured out as a nice looking red color with a thin pink colored head on top. The smell of the beer is of cherry which is a good thing. The smell has some light wild yeast aromas in there too giving a little bit of funk on the nose. The taste of the beer is of sweet and sour cherry. It seems to start sweet and end with the tart. The mouthfeel is similar to a carbonated wine. Overall it's not a terrible lambic in my opinion, however some think that Lindeman's is just too sweet all around. To each their own.

Hazy cherry-coloured body, light cover of bubbly pink head with a little lacing. Beautiful colour but it could use some better head retention.

Cherry is prominent and unmistakable on the nose but the first thing it has me thinking of are Halls cherry cough drops! That said, it does smell good and isn't overly-artificial. Bready yeast, black forest cake, cinnamon, a little dust and a very subtle funk.

For 3.5% ABV the flavour here is huge and cherry dominates; a mostly natural character but with a touch of Cherry Blasters thrown in. Quite sweet with a light tartness, sour lemon, minerals and yeast, a touch of spice (cinnamon), herbal hops in the background and almost no funkiness. Mostly big candy-like cherry flavour.

Light body with lightly effervescent carbonation. Drying cherry finish.

Compared to the only other kriek I've tried (Cantillon Lou Pepe) this example is a bit plain; complexity is not in the same league at all. Still, this is a pleasure to drink and I could see how this would be very accessible to people who think they don't like beer. Sweetness is high but it doesn't come off as cloying nor as a fruity cooler pretending to be a beer. I couldn't drink a lot of it (due to sweetness) but one is great. This would definitely pair well with all kinds of desserts (especially anything chocolate). If there's any brett in here I'd love to try this aged with more showing; I'm not picking up on any and feel it could really use a little.

Review taken on Christmas Eve 2012.

355 ml (12 oz.) darker than Dark green bottle. Bottle is thicker and heavier than most. Foiled, capped, and corked. Very classy appeal. Poured into a flute glass.

A - ruby red in color that's on the darker side. Beautiful and creamy pink colored head that sits proudly on top. Some very nice lacing with this one.

S - very cherry. It's a simple aroma that's both sweet, and sour/tart.

T - black cherries completely dominate every aspect of the flavor. The complexity is the use of cherry and really remarkable. The way it comes from sweet to sour and finishes with tart is unreal. This taste really has it all with sweetness, but also a pristine sourness. All the many flavors of cherry incorporated in this brew is something to be proud of.

M - light to medium in body with good carbonation. Easy to drink and I detected no alcohol taste at all. Smooth with an almost champagne like dry finish.

O - one of the best lambics I've ever had. Simple cherry flavor transformed into a complex beer. The character and complexity used with one flavor aspect is wonderful. Just a delicious experience. Something I'll enjoy again. Good change of pace and soothing.

Enjoyed in a snifter

A: dark ruby red, intriguing. Pours with a 1" head, which is of a dark pink color. A lot of lacing.

S: the smell is unparalleled to anything. It's smells like carbonated juice, the black cherries have a strong scent. Scent draws you in, makes you look forward to the first sip, very enjoyable. Smell is similar to that of a freshly opened bag of twizlers

T: great combination of sweet and sour. The taste of the black cherries is very unique and delicious. Starts off very fruity, and finishes with a sour/ tart taste.

M: mouth party! The way it changes from sweet to sour awakens your palate. It is not too carbonated so it is easy to drink.

Overall, this is an incredible lambic, such a good pick up. I am usually one that hates fruity beer but this completely changes that concept. The black cherry sweetness and the sour finish is a great combination. Thanks for the recommendation @bigplay1824

Enjoyed in a snifter

A: pours a beautiful cherry red that is crystal clear, pours with two plus fingers of pink extremely fluffy head that lingers beautifully and leaves a ton of lacing around the glass
S: cherries, pure and simple cherries, really a wonderful nose on this one
T: cherries dominate in the forefront then it moves into a nice period of tartness in the middle and rounds out with pure sourness which linger beautifully on the palate
M: the cherry tart and sourness really awaken and soothe the palate at the same time, medium carbonation, lingering pukered up feeling from the sour and tart
O: This is the best lambic i have had to date, the taste absolutely blew me away and the scent was tantilizing, absolutely incredible, gonna need to grab some more bottles of this to test it out with some aging, loved it!
