bottle poured into a snifter. pours a deep violet with rouge mixed in, a minimal head and only a thin rim. resembles wine in the glass.
aroma is of fruit, similar to raspberries and blackberries as well as currents. there is a light sharpness from a sour note with an alcohol-like tinge. the fruit is mainly berries with a light sweetness in the background.
taste is of light fruit, mainly berries, with a background of distant sweet and sour notes. the brew goes down very smooth with a faint tartness after the fact.
mouthfeel is medium bodied and lightly sweet with a balancing tartness and a mildly crisp profile. pleasant on the palate.
drinkability is good. of the Lindeman's lambics with fruit, this is the most balanced and drinkable. the sweetness is restrained enough to allow sour notes to mildly balance the brew, giving way to a tart aftertaste that cuts through the sticky sweetness. cheers!
