12oz capped and corked bottled poured into a tulip. Bottled Feb 2012.

A: Pours a slightly hazy gold with a giant 3 finger puffy white head. A ridiculous amount of visible carbonation in the body. No real lacing.

S: Sour funky farmhouse type yeast. Slight skunkiness to it, not sure if intended.

T: Very tart and sour. Not for the faint of heart. Very good fruitiness to it. Reminiscent of an oud bruin but with more funk and sourness. I really enjoy the qualities in this beer.

M: Loads of carbonation makes this one real light on the tongue. With the sour this has a real crisp finish.

Overall I can't believe it's taken me so long to try this beer. Certainly much different than most of the other beers out there. Worth a try when in the mood for something different or for those who love sours.

Champagne bottle poured into a white wine glass.

So, not sure how to really review this, not like anything I have tasted. Pours light copper with white foam. Hazy/cloudy. Sour nose, powerful. Sour cherry taste, very much so. Some apple cider notes. Loads of flavor and taste.

Cafe Veloce' in Kirkland, WA
355ml (12oz) bottle
Bottled date: 10/6/2011
Poured into cylinder glass-
Light fine/golden white head- creamy smooth looking
Very fine consistent bubbles
Taste- wow! First impression, this is one SOUR son-a-b! 2nd sip complex lemons, grape sweet entangled in granny smith apple bite. Tongue feels the sour "bang" which then flows smooth and bubbly like champagne.
I wonder if bottled date changes complexity, tart/sour depth as I see many more recent reviews and bottled dates.
Price is $7- reasonable. Very enjoyable and complex beer. Not for the sour faint at heart, but a fun and dramatic beer to try and enjoy the brewer's work.

375 bottle with cork and pressure cap; small almost not existant pop as cork is removed.

poured into tulip glass.

bottled 11/23/12.

Appearance: Golden body with 2 fingers of egg white head that fizzes down into a thin ring around the glass.

Smell: moderate tart and funk. Fruity and yeasty. oak, musty, dusty, sweaty, oaky, earthy, hay/straw notes. Honestly, I smell something similiar to the smell of concentrated urine. First sniff was almost offensive, but once I got a few whiffs in on the beer, I made the determination that it really has a big nose thats better after you settle in with the beer a little bit. It not a bad a I originally thought it was. I could actually smell this when i poured from a little ways away from my glass without even really putting my nose into the beer.

Taste: Tart lemons and white grapes. Vinious like white wine. Green apples and light cherry fruitiness. Its fairely yeasty. And then the oak, earth, dusty sweaty funk shows up about midpalate. Finishes with a touch of tart green apple and fruity sweetness.

Mouthfeel: light bodied beer with high end of low carbonation. The mouthfeel starts off a touch syrupy like wine and then has a ticklish carbonation that comes alive on your tongue. Semi dry finish.

Overall: What a really complex beer style. There is a lot of things to take in. This is not a style of beer that is for someone who is new to craft beer. $5 for a 375ml bottle of beer. Great price to get your feet wet with this style of beer to trial and see if you like the style.

Poured from a 750ml bottle into a chalice. Bottled on 8/18/12. Review from notes on 12/27/12. Drank in the room aboard the Carnival Dream over Christmas break.

Appearance: Pours an opaque orange/gold color with a 2 finger frothy eggshell white head. Decent lacing.

Smell: Tart fruit, Belgian yeast, barnyard funk and a hint of sweetness.

Taste: Very tart fruit and grape hulls up front followed by funky barnyard notes in the middle before ending with a sour, bitter finish. Aftertaste is bitter and funky.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with a high amount of prickly carbonation. The sourness is puckering and coats the mouth.

Drinkability: Decent drinkability. Not one to try and polish off by yourself in a single sitting. Would be better shared.

Overall: Good beer overall. I think this is my first gueuze. While it's far from my favorite style, I can say I appreciate what Lindemans has done here. I wouldn't mind revisiting this one at some point in the future.
