The Distillery is Located on kind of the edge of the tourist area. There is some parking in front and about 4 outside tables.

The bar is on the left as you enter the rectangular room. There are tables center and to the right. There is also a small elevated area in the rear. High tin ceilings, a nice back bar, some exposed brick, sealed concrete floors and a row of pillars down the middle complete the look. They also have some beer/brewery stuff on display.

There are 4 or so TVs, so you can watch the games.

20 well thought out and diverse tap choices. Lots of bottles add to your choices. There are selections from Anderson Valley, Bells, Harpoon, Southern Tier, Victory and Terrapin among others.

Food is gastro pub style with clear Savannah influences. Try the cucumber wasabi dressing!

Service is beer savvy and friendly.

This is a must stop when visiting the area. I wish I would have had more time for a follow-up visit.

Visited on a Monday around 7:30pm. Real quiet. Sat outside on a hot day.

This may be considered the best beer bar in Savannah, but it does not compare to many other bars across the country. It still may be your best option.

A - Five tables outside. What little I saw of inside seemed nice. Sort of a dark bar with lots of wood. 3.75

Q - They seem to serve in a proper glass, but those glasses were branded randomly (if that bothers you). Only ordered on tap beer as I was a little suspect of the turnover on the bottle menu. 4

Service – Was fine. Nice maybe a little slow. He could have sold me another beer but he waited to long and moved on. 3.75

S - Supposedly the best in savannah. If that is the case, then Ouch! Good but lacking. 10-15 on tap with another 50-75 in a bottle. A wide variety but little depth and few if any must haves. Drank a local Monday Night Bed Head (very good) and a Harpoon 100 Barrel Series #50 - Citra Victorious 3.75

F - You get what you pay for. It's good bar food but don't come with expectations for something more. 3.75

$ - As noted above you get what you pay for and I thought that it was good value.

I worked here for almost a year. I loved every thing about the bar, and now I distribute beer to them. It's a gem, and the Volens have done an amazing job with the entire place. I go at least once a week and get a flight ($18), enjoy some fried pickles and pretzels. They also have a great craft liquor selection, but they flavor their own liquors in house too. The Pickle Bloody Mary is (seriously) the best in Savannah, and naturally, the top it with a stout beer.

Every time I a take a trip to Savannah I always make sure to stop in The Distillery. The people there are great. They always have some good beers on tap and in the bottle cellar and usually have some goodies tucked away that aren't on the menu if you know what I mean. The first time I went me and a buddy brought some beers from FL to share with the staff (the staff here is overall really knowledgeable and very friendly) and to show their appreciation for bringing some good treats that they haven't had before one of the bartenders went home after his shift and brought us some stuff we just cant get in Florida. This is my favorite spot to get a beer in Savannah and a must stop every time I go. No Bud, Miller or Coors products wich is nice in a craft beer establishment.

This is *the* craft beer destination in Savannah. The beer menus are ubiquitous and extensive, the staff is knowledgable, and the ethos is based primarily around good beer. They serve food and liquor, too, but beer is the the main focus.

The decor is newly renovated glit--woody, warm lighting. All the taps are wooden and have little chalksboards on them where the names of each beer are written. Stock is rotated frequently and there's an excellent bottle selection to buffet the two dozen or so taps.

All that having been said, the place is still in Savannah, which ain't exactly a beer mecca. Nothing especially impressive was available. The only beers that you couldn't find fairly easily in the midwest were south Georgia locals, which were almost uniformly terrible. Thankfully, though, the joint don't let civic pride get in the way of quality, and so mediocre locals only took up a handful of taps.

The food was really tasty, the service was friendly, and crowd was mostly unpretentious. A nice little joint.

Stopped in for a beer and some food on a recent visit to Savannah. Service was great. The space is fun and easy to be in. A nice beer list, although fewer locals than I would have wished, especially on draft. The food was absolutely awful. There were four of us, so we ordered a pretty wide variety of dishes and all of them were disappointing.

Go for the beer and a snack. But don't go for dinner...
