First had: bottle from the Malvern brewpub
Bottle 213/300
Poured into a McKenzie wine glass. Deep mahogany brown color, semi-translucent, with an easy two fingers of head that receded to a thick ringlet, leaving foamy lacing on the glass. One attractive brew. A good dose of lacto sourness in the nose, with a touch of acetic acid, lesser notes of grassy funk and indistinct fruit. Pretty sour/lactic on the palate, but not puckering or palate-wrecking, woody, with light flavors of cherry and red wine, candi sugar, and strangely, I picked up a very subtle cocoa flavor in there as well. Body was medium, mouthfeel was crisp and acidic, moderately dry, moderately carbonated. Overall quite nice. I'm going to let one mellow out in the bottle for a while and see what happens.
