Right down 211 between "downtown" washington and sperryville. A real diamond in the rough for sure, has an old timey kind of feel to it with all bare wood on the inside of the pub and a big fireplace that you are sure to find a roaring fire in the winter time. All beers are displayed on the top of the bar which makes picking really easy
The quality of everything is quite good, not a whole lot of available seating however with the volume they do it isnt really that important
Service is outstanding, they will get you anything you need and whatever glass you ask for they dont have a really wide selection but they do cover all the basics, goblet, tulipish, pint glasses, mugs. THe chef/owner will generally be behind the bar to chat with and serve you which is cool
Selection: i was shocked that in this somewhat remote are to find this beer selection. There are 4 taps with star hill beers to showcase local brews. Bottle selection is some of the finest from america and belgium: bells, dfh, stone, bear republic, victory, aventinus, gouden, and many more
The chef/owner has great taste and the pub has some affordble snacks and sandwiches generally 8-12 dollars. There is also a fine dining menu which entrees run 25-35 dollars if you want to try pairing some beer with some high class food. Anything from contemporary american to southeast asian
Value is great they had oaked bastard for 4.50!!! crazy cheap, most brews are in the 4-5 dollar range and considering the quality that is not bad at all
If you are in the shenendoah area this is THE place to have a pint and chat with some cool local people. Highly recommended!
